11 Senators Support House Progressives' Push to Pass Full Biden Agenda

It’s high time for the voters of both major parties to acknowledge the bitter taste of betrayal their parties have left in their mouths. Abandoning those ruined castles and building a different apparatus will be less bitter than hanging on, still trusting the old bastions to represent the People.

No arguments from me on that. The new monarchists of America’s elite, are just as big of snobs and eccentric cranks, as those in England.
NATO in the South Americas, S. Korean autos in driveways, Chinese takeout in the refrigerator and now NAFTA in England. Where, pray tell, will it all end?

Of all the threads for all the articles of all the websites in the world, you walk into ours (for which I’m eternally bemused, at least, when not grateful).

Casablanca and Godfather and Dirty Harry and Terminator and Bugs Bunny are our sources of deep, iconic wisdom, such as they are. There are better sources, but the cable’s out, and this is all the classic wisdom available over the antenna to English speakers.

My news guru WRP lugs around your same satchel of grim forebodings. It looks & feels like a legislative mega-trainwreck looming up, very soon now…

I live in a country where the current president has his job because Mike Pence got desperate consultation from Dan Quayle on the limits of his constitutional powers regarding the certification of Electors while a furious mob was battering down the Capitol doors trying to stop the whole thing in its tracks, and now a pair of bills that almost everyone likes is probably doomed because capitalism doesn’t want them.

It’s not over yet, and Democratic leadership could pull off the legislative version of a nine-run rally in the late innings… except these are the late innings, and there is a government shutdown/debt ceiling crisis to be dealt with almost simultaneously. “The worst are filled with passionate intensity,” said W.B. The young Americans are hard working, ethical, friendly, better educated, healthy, well traveled, and sophisticated.
They will build an American democracy.

The trump types seem to have birth years 1954 through 1964. These later boomers who were also the tea party backbone years ago. Gimme, gimme, gimme - and no, I won’t even pay taxes for my own grandchildren’s educations.

If West Virginia and Arizona scuttle this bill because they want to starve the rest of the county for right wing street cred everyone who supports these policies should starve them.

If you were going to either place don’t. If you have business there wind it up. If you invest there pull it. Save for all of the right wing vampire pig states. Let them see what austerity feels like when you don’t just get to inflict it on others while you stuff your face with federal dollars.
