Here is the bad news for congress that most of us are overlooking. Congress has a very low support level from the public. Particularly Republicans When they did polls on the support for tax cuts for the rich, that had very low support from the public in the polls. Both Trump and congress have low ratings, The poll ratings are high for agreement that the country is headed in the wrong direction. Time after time, Republicans have passed legislation with low public support. Tax cuts for rich has very low support from the public.
Gallup poll finds majority favor ending tax cuts for the rich.
In short, Republicans and Trump have been ignoring their substantially low ratings and have ignored polls on the public support or non support of bills they have been writing and passing. All of which points to the possibility that Republicans could be voted out of majority control of congress in the 2018 elections and Trump voted out of office in 2020 IF our apathetic voters of 2014 and 2016 show up in 2018 and 2020 in huge numbers in the next two elections.
Lets all hope and pray that the Demo Party gives all of the stay at home voters good reason to get out and participate in the 2018/2020 elections-
It would seem to be all up to them…The ball is in their court…
A maximum income NOW!
Tax cuts for the rich and super rich have always been a super dooper butt kiss from the Republican Party to its rich donors. Even Mitch McConnell admitted to this. Those tax cuts are one of the primary reasons our national debt is 20 trillion dollars. When you have a national debt that size, the proper perspective is to view tax cuts for the rich as nothing less than OBSCENE.
Yes, that was the problem with 2016. They ran Hillary for president and I think voters responded with apathy toward voting. That apathy led directly to electing the most horrific president in our history. That leads us to an extremely important 2018 congressional election when we desperately need to vote Republicans out of majority control of congress. They have established a government that is of, by and for the rich. The rest of us need to take back our country.
On the other hand, the public voted for an outsider Barrack Obama for two terms in office as president. The Democrats need a charismatic outsider to run for office and we need to be the party of DIVERSITY. There will undoubtedly be a backlash against Republican’s government of, by and for the rich, and there will be a Trump backlash.
I believe that the entire Republican Philosophy is running on borrowed time- It is so 18th century and totally destructive to people and planet- These fools are running on borrowed time-Time that we don’t have…
How many people realize this? What needs to happen is A total change of mindset- Capitalism or better yet predatory crony capitalism is sending us back to feudal times and raping the planet of resources- People need to realize that there may be enough left to satisfy their needs but NOT their wants and greed-
I have family members that flat out freak me out in the way that they think- They are Republicans to the max, have worked hard and are very wealthy- But when I speak to them of Trump and Global warming we are at opposite ends of the Universe- They feel that Global warming is just fine, they won’t be around to experience it and their kids will have to figure it out? They just love Trump and told me when he was elected that he will put the smartest people in charge and life will be like “pennies from heaven”… Where do you even begin???
My point is that Republicans have A totally different brain function, if you can call it that- It goes against all logic, science and reasoning that you ever held dear and they always have some quick short unreasonable answer to every point you try to make-
How do you change or alter A mindset that you know is destructive and counter productive? It is so frustrating- Sometimes I think their success and money made them this way…
Anyway, I still believe that the Democratic party is not beyond redemption and is A much more reasonable approach than Republicans- Will it take another defeat in 2018 to bring them to their senses? The Green party is too infantile at this stage- I think our only hope is with the Democrats, turning them towards progressiveness or more socialism-
