32 Arrested After 200 Iowa #NoDAPL Protesters Dismantle Security Fence in Bid to Disrupt Pipeline Drilling

David Goodner

MONTROSE, Iowa — On Saturday, October 1, more than two hundred water protectors marched from the banks of the Mississippi River through a timbered woodland lot to a Dakota Access river boring site and tore down a security fence before being repelled by the Iowa State Patrol and the Lee County Sheriff's Department.

Thirty-two people were arrested and charged with trespassing, officials confirmed.

As the size and scope of this protest grows, the corporate media coverage of it shrinks.
Now, ain't that just like Big Brother to pull that kind of crap?

#5

Hypocrisy writ large: arrest lots of people for trespassing, while perpetrators of fraud that ruin peoples credit ratings and lives walk free and commit fraud yet again. Rah, rah, USA.

sometimes it seems like the future of our planet is being decided here. The First Nations are trying to protect the water and the Earth- the pipeline wants to kill the earth for profit, then further destroy it with burning oil. If the First Nations can win this we will have a chance, and also an inspiring example for future actions. and the planet will live.

so cheers to the tribes! long may you live!
