70 Years After Dropping Two Nuclear Bombs (Or How Patriotism Means Never Having To Say You're Sorry)

70 Years After Dropping Two Nuclear Bombs (Or How Patriotism Means Never Having To Say You're Sorry)

Christian Appy

"Never, never waste a minute on regret. It's a waste of time." —President Harry Truman

Just a puissant and perspicacious article by Mr. Appy.

Should be required reading in all High Schools and Colleges.

Here’s a way to tell your children you care, that all children deserve protection from the atrocities unleashed by human aggression. To remember Sadako Sasaki, and all the children killed by US terrorism, deliberately targeting the people of Japan with firebomb conflagrations and nuclear strikes:

Teach your children to fold a paper crane, and display it from August 6th to August 9th.

We just saw Isao Takahata’s animated masterpiece Grave of the Fireflies about the wartime struggle of a boy and his little sister. (Too disturbing for young children - maybe the most eloquent antiwar film you’ll ever see.)

Let’s admit it: the US committed a brutal, inexcusable, horrible act to end WWII. However, let’s recognize that the entire war was horrible as are all wars and in modern total war anyone and everyone is a target. That act legitimized the use of nuclear weapons. It committed the nuclear powers to spending countless hours and millions upon millions of dollars to prevent another use. All the people on earth today and into the future live yet under the threat of annihilation because one man and only one man could not appreciate in his heart and soul the long-term consequences of his decision to “become death, the destroyer of worlds”. The US is emerging from a national neurosis. One day, I hope an apology is made. As happy as people were that dropping the bombs ended the war, in my mind their use is the most woeful act in the history of humankind.

An example of how “brainwashed” many Americans are over the events that lead to the conclusion of WW2 against Japan and those war crimes committed by the USA look no further than Bligh who insists the Japanese had secrety stashed 5000 trained kamikaze Pilots and aircraft on the japanese mainland to deal with a US invasion.

This the same Japan that could not scrape up enough aircraft/pilots for the battle of Leyte Gulf wherein they actually sent empty carriers in as bait to draw out American vessels. This is the same japan that resorted to siphoning bunker fuel from one vessel to another just to get some of those ships to sea. This is the same Japan where radio addresses to the end of the war convinced the people that Japan was winning the war effort and victory was in reach. This the same Japan who had to train furture pilots on gliders because of fuel shortages and who were so hard pressed for trained pilots they started sending instructors into the war leaving barely trained pilots to train the next group.

5000 “highly trained kamikazes” indeed.

The 40000 losses originally claimed would happen with an invasion of trhe homeland was upped to the half million plus AFTER the war so that the war criminals that authorized that act of savagery against Hiroshima and nagasaki could placate their consciences and that of the public who MUST believe they always on the side of “good” so that the war machine could keep up its killing.

That killing and the lies used to justify them continue to this day.

Disturbingly, public opinion polls and assessments by historians, often rank Harry Truman among the ten best US Presidents.

70 years after Harry Truman ordered the atomic bomb dropped on the civilian targets of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the mainstream media seems incapable of questioning this decision. I am sure that I am not the only one whose comments, suggesting that Harry Truman is guilty of crimes against humanity, have been removed from mainstream media discussion boards or whose profile has been terminated.

A recent YouGov poll is both upsetting and hopeful. While most US citizens still think that the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki was right, most younger US citizens (18-44) feel that it was wrong.

On several occasions, US officials have threatened the use of nuclear weapons. I believe it was in 2008 when Hillary Clinton threatened nuclear annihilation against Iran. Failure to apologize for the crime against humanity committed by dropping atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and the failure to ensure that the US will never use such weapons of mass destruction again, makes it likely that, at some point in time, a US President will come up with a justification to drop atomic weapons on another civilian population.

Ine the firebombing of Tokyo , the US pilots were given as targets escape routes that might be used by the Civilans to get out of the conflagaration. This fire bombing was directed directly AT the Civilian population as homes tended to be made of Wood while factories were made of concrete and would not be subject to the degree of flames that were desired by US planners,

The goal was to maximize civilian casualties.

And now we have Israel using Neutron Bombs on Yemen. Please read and watch the linked video.

Who is “the one man and only one man” you refer to?

I think it’s quite possible that FDR would have ordered the use of nuclear weapons against Japan if he’d managed to lived until August 1945.

Stimson’s attitude toward the bomb was complex, but I wouldn’t call it opposition.

Total nonsense. First, there’s no evidence that Israel possesses, or has ever possessed, neutron bombs. Second, the claim that neutron bombs don’t damage the infrastructure is incorrect. Third, a neutron bomb is a low-yield fission/fusion device that has the same flash characteristics as any other fission device. What the video shows is conventional bombs exploding and creating mushroom clouds, which aren’t a unique signature of nuclear weapons. Plus, the website is run by a liar/fantasist who believes a jetliner didn’t hit the Pentagon on September 11, 2001.

Well I hate to tell you. But the link is a very reliable source.

A video received from Yemen, believed to be taken May 20, 2015, of an explosion, when analyzed by nuclear weapons experts is, by very high probability, a neutron bomb that could only have been an Israeli attack.

The analysis:

A. Its not a conventional 2k lb bomb. It’s much bigger.

B. Its either a very large MOAB bigger than 4,000 lbs. or; ??? Max weight for an F-15 / 16 is about 2,000 lb payload per bomb rack making the deployment of a MOAB impossible.

Lightning effect and duration of the fire ball being suspended in mid air and the very large mushroom cloud is the main give away, that is because it is being hit by neutrons from the nuclear fireball blast. It overloads the ccd’s electronic circuit producing white flashes. If the radiation is too high it will burn out the chip. They had big problems with this in Japan with the Fukushima robots cameras failing due to very high radiation counts.

D. Delivery is most likely by an IDF F-16 with a Saudi paint job on the plane. They are not even hiding their use anymore, they just don’t publicly admit it and the IAEA does nothing or says nothing. That is the true war crime. The UN just ignores it unless the US, France or GB complain…

One more point about if Israel posses Neutron Bombs.
“According to the authoritative intelligence newsletter, Jane’s Foreign Report, the Israeli military will launch a devastating neutron bomb barrage on Iraq, should Saddam Hussein attack the Jewish State with either chemical or biological weapons.”
