In today’s monopolistic media environment, the E.W. Scripps Company doesn’t rate as anything close to a top-tier power. The Cincinnati-based TV and digital media provider’s main claim to fame these days may well be its sponsorship of America’s National Spelling Bee.
Which shows that with few exceptions (Scripps, Elon Musk, Tom Steyer?) to be a mogul, one has to be a psychopath.

I didn’t know any of this before reading this article. Very interesting and relevant piece, in light of the record-breaking wealth disparity in this country today. I love Scripps’ idea about an income cap, but I would be thrilled if we could simply get back to progressive income tax rates similar to the ones enacted in his time.
