A Nobel Prize-Winning Cancer Therapy Will Be Unaffordable for Most Americans. Public Pharmaceuticals Can Help Change That.

Dana Brown

Last week, researchers James Allison and Tasuku Honjo were awarded this year's Nobel Prize in medicine for their work on cancer immunotherapies, heralded by the Nobel committee as "seminal discoveries" that "constitute a landmark in our fight against cancer."

The FDA has also of late been labeling dietary supplements as Drugs. A Dietary supplement can generally be bought for pennies per does. Pharmaceutical Companies developed what they call “drugs” based upon the active ingredient in said supplement that might be used to treat or prevent certain diseases.

When THAT happens what once could be had for pennies will now costs many dollars per dose under patent laws and those monies flow to Corporations that “Patented” treatments that have been used for Centuries.

Just another example as to how “Capitalism as a tool of wealth creation” is one big con.

Lets be honest, we have known for years that if our system was just, some cancer patients would be able to grow their own cure and vitamin B-17 wouldn’t be illegal in this country. The medical and pharmaceutical industries have been a sham for profit over patients since health insurance co’s. were formed.

The “cure” for most cancer is in prevention by eating healthy, REAL, organic food and not messing with the immune system right out of the womb by injecting children with 48 diseases by the time they’re two years old. Not feeding children pseudo-food, like Fruit Loops, Spaghettios, Goldfish, and Lunchables, will go a LONG way to prevent most diseases, which are caused by inflammation due to the crap Americans eat and the toxins they have in their environments. Using natural medicine instead of insanely costly pharmaceuticals with hideous side effects would help as well, but with the crazy diets and toxic environments pushed by the criminal capitalist sickness industry, people have little chance of true health anyway. Food corporations make hundreds of billions of dollars a year making Americans sick, (including billions of our tax dollars in subsidies), and pharmaceutical corporations make billions touting the “cure” for totally preventable diseases. America’s sickness care system makes a LOT of dollars, but NO sense at all when it comes to real health. Making it public will only shift the cost. It won’t do a thing to make Americans healthier.
