'A Step in the Right Direction': US Removes Cuba from Terror List

Nadia Prupis, staff writer

The U.S. has formally removed Cuba from its list of "state sponsors of terror," the State Department announced on Friday, signaling one more step forward in a renewal of diplomatic relations between the two countries after more than 50 years.

Some economic sanctions against the Caribbean nation will remain in place.

Now they should remove the American public from their terrorist list. Sunset the Patriot Act!

Unless there’s profit in opening up Cuba I would expect the path to normalized relations to be rocky and long.

Still, at least we’re starting down it.

Finally - reprieve for the Cuban people. Unfortunately, it will also be the beginning of the end of Cuban social values. The ugly American vultures will swoop in to further exploit the already state exploited Cuban professional and so the cycle begins!
Good luck to my Cuban friends.

Very good point! I wish Americans would look up their own government’s definition of terrorism, then follow what actions the US is taking on a daily basis in the Middle East and elsewhere and tell me truthfully that the US isn’t the World’s biggest sponsor of state terrorism!
