ACLU Comment on Yahoo Email Scanning

WASHINGTON - Yahoo Mail scanned all of its customers’ incoming messages under a secret order from the government, according to a report by Reuters.

Patrick Toomey, a staff attorney with the American Civil Liberties Union, had this reaction:

Why is it okay to nullify the 4th amendment to the Constitution? It's simple, just read it. "The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized."

This is the post 911 world we live in. The constitution has been abrogated, and so has the rule of law. Both national and international law. We are now at the mercy of fabricated causes supported by FUD.
