While it was brought up briefly at the articles end, it bares repeating. With the filibuster firmly in place, and Chuck Schumer and Joe Biden showing no interest in ending it, voting rights, immigration, social security, and Medicare reform don’t even qualify as pipe dreams.
As the Bard would say, this is much ado about nothing.

Get these two selfish senators on board or take a nuclear action. These voting and infrastructure bills need the support up front, or just vote. If these senators hold out and won’t entertain eliminating the filibuster,
vote anyway. These bills weren’t going anywhere anyway.
It’s the option of the other congress critters to do what they want, but I wouldn’t bend much on programs or the amount.
We need to move on, with or without overwhelming support.

Putting more heat and bright light on Sens. Manchinema and there’s still 26 days left in October. Those 2 oppose the outright end of the filibuster; well, maybe some popular carve outs then? Something has got to give in this Washington slough of racist stalls and seditious stalemates. Who buckles to the whims of hedge fund fanatics, and who is finally exposed as the Judas-Racist-Fascists of the Democratic Party?
Force all the hard votes before Thanksgiving and see who gets decapitated and plucked.

Democrats need to get rid of Manchin and Sinema and replace them with people who can be relied on before they think about getting rid of the filibuster.

It’s a trap. Schumer has been playing to lose to the right wing for a long time. Including conspiring with Manchin to undermine their own party’s budget agenda.

In writing.

Manchin has been holding up and weakening votes rights legislation in the first place. Pushing him to end the filibuster is giving an arsonist matches and oil and asking him to watch your house.

Until the right wing Democrats are gone ending the filibuster is not a solution; it is a disaster that would give the right wing 52 votes in the senate and absolutely no way to stop them.

“… sacred right to vote.” No one believes the “right” to vote is more sacred than those being voted for. It’s their bread and butter. All while the reality in the US is, two committees put forth their backroom, pre-selected choices and if you so decide, you get to pick one or the other. Sacred my arse. Don’t ferget to wear your member of the club, “I voted” button.

The preeminent civil rights hero’s pooh-poohing of Sanders came at a press conference where the Congressional Black Caucus PAC announced its endorsement of Hillary Clinton for president.
Rep John Lewis on BernieSanders ’ civil rights record: “I never saw him. I never met him.”

“Representative government is artifice, a political myth, designed to conceal from the masses the dominance of a self-selected, self-perpetuating, and self-serving traditional ruling class.”

I am so tired of all of their BS. Both parties can go to hell.
