The above picture of John Lewis, I would caption with: A BRIDGE OVER TROUBLED WATER. John Lewis: : " MAKE GOOD TROUBLE".
Oh Thank you Bria Goeller for that artwork of Kamala and the shadow of the litle girl, from that famous 1950s picture of the little girl integrating schools. I think there’s a famous Norman Rockwell painting of that too. IN a real democratic republic all kinds of little girls and boys can grow up to be people who can change the world for the better. It does seem to take a long time though for change to happen----but it does and can happen. : )
Looking at the picture of the girl holding up the BIDEN sign, I wondered how long before she gets the Breonna Taylor treatment, and how much longer afterward before Biden says we must not question, or interfere with, the police in the performance of their sacred duty.
Now to go barf. I’ll celebrate when they stop f*** us in the fiscal, medical and environmental ass.
A good article to expand your view–a comparison between Toronto former mayor, Rob Ford and president-fired Trump:
NONWHITE VOTERS ARE NOT IMMUNE TO THE APPEAL OF RIGHT-WING POPULISM
From Toronto’s Rob Ford to Donald Trump, racist candidates attract nonwhite support. What gives?
While I’m relieved that the horror that is Trump will be gone in January, I can’t celebrate Biden as a savior of democracy, not with his Wall Street backers and his war hawk, anti-progressive policy record. I’ve had my hope for positive change raised and then smashed too many times over 63 years, to give more than than “a broken hallelujah” now.
