Highlighting the fact that America's inhumane treatment of immigrants reaches far beyond the despicable behavior of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)—an agency that a growing number of citizens and lawmakers have said they want to abolish—Sen.

Rivlin-Nadler should take a lot at how far to the extremist-fascist right the government has been moved in the last 55-70 years.

ICE and DHS fail the Constitution test:

“We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence ( yes the founders spelled it as defence and not defense)
promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty, to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.”

Slavery and putting Japanese citizens into prison camps , and discriminating against Muslims, and taking over women’s healthcare and giving corporations human rights, and ignoring George Washington’s advice to beware of “entangling alliances.” Yes we are awfully entangled, aren’t we.
I want Congress people to take that Constitution test every year, and if they don’t know the answers--------they lose their seats, and someone who knows the nations purpose takes over. : )

Man, I’m with you 100%.
Absolutely no government agencies or spending that aren’t explicitly defined in the Constitution.
No Department of Education.
No Department of HUD.
No Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security or National Endowment for the Arts.
No wars except as declared by Congress by recorded public vote.

That would be a good start.

The very idea of passports came into being in 1913. That’s one hundred and five years ago. Please correct me if I am wrong on this.

People are fleeing chaos caused by militaristic US capitalism as well as the addiction as a cash cow market. Most refugees would prefer to stay home. Please correct me if I am wrong on this.

It’s not just the INS and ICE that are cruel and inhumane it’s our entire justice system, the police and the military that are heartless ruthless and cruel. Even from the start English settlers have shown much inhumanity to the natives, later to the pacific islanders, Porto Rican’s, native Hawaiians. Of course we have an indisputable recorded facts about our military’s barbaric practices since ww2. North Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan and the list goes on
However I am happy to share that as of late I have been noticing the beginning of the tyrant ruling class’s centuries of cruelness and inhumanity back firing on them. Maybe the revolution has begun?

With the call to address abusive institutions, the arguments of Ralph Nader are VERY salient. In an interview around publication of his 2014 book, Unstoppable: The Emerging Left-Right Alliance to Dismantle the Corporate State, he contributes arguments that counter the poisitioning manipulations by media.

A full library of Nader’s work and interviews might very well be one of the most valuable resources for progressive history with a track record of coherence across the spectrum.

So then where would you get your internet service? I assume you use roads. Do you enjoy eating food that does not poison you?

Do you use oil at all? How about electricity? Would you like even more pollution in your water supply?

Would you enjoy seeing elderly people dying of famine all around you?

The libertarian notion of no government is a childish simplistic idea that if only people would stop telling you what to do, you could have everything you always wanted.

It’s too bad libertarians don’t support the one idea of freedom that could possibly do some good. Stop reproducing, get spayed and neutered, wear a condom.

The Socialist notion that any reduction of government would result in some kind of Mad Max Somalia is a childish stupid idea.
Government is like the grass in the park. A certain amount constantly cut back is vastly better than a mud hole but when allowed to run wild, it become a brambly, snake infested danger to our children.

I’ll never understand the desperate desire for a totalitarian State by most people on this site.
I suppose it’s the desperate desire for some sort of idealized perpetual adolescence wherein Daddy pays for everything and handles all the problems without enforcing bed times.
