Arctic Nightmare: Obama, Shell, and the Fate of the Far North

Subhankar Banerjee

Here’s a Jeopardy!-style question for you: “Eight different species of whales can be seen in these two American seas.” Unless you’re an Iñupiaq, a marine biologist, or an Arctic enthusiast like me, it’s a pretty good guess that you can’t tell me what those seas are or what those whales are either.

respect mother earth and leave her remaining sources underground. the human enigma...capable of much greater potentials, yet complacent and entrenched in archaic abilities.

Thank you, Mr. Banerjee for this terrific article. Unimaginable that these deep water drilling companies can still be allowed to drill after the Warning Bell rang in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico. And how about Shell's record in Niger? Banks too big to fail, an MIC that requires war as its fuel for survival, Monsanto poisoning the food chain, and the oil corps killing the natural world. These are the entities that control nations via their governors.
