Despite Trump's claims, his tax plan holds major benefits for the wealthy and few for the middle- and lower-class
There’s the ballot box in 2018. We can all just sit on our asses. blog, and complain or we can go vote these Republicans out of office. The choice is ours (at least with the Senate).
Certainly we can do our duty at the ballot box and it’s easy. But we have to treat both wings of the Duopoly with clear eyes and hearts and not delude ourselves that liberation comes in the polling place. Voting is a tactic, one among many. What’s more important is what we do between elections both in the electoral arena and elsewhere so maybe someday voting becomes more than ruling-class Kabuki.
You are absolutely correct. In 2014 and 2016 the Democrats were apathetic toward voting, and look at what that got us, a Republican controlled congress and White House with a horrific Donald Trump in the White House. In 2018 congressional voting, we absolutely MUST show up at the ballot boxes in huge numbers to end Republican control of congress and in 2020 to vote against a second term for the most horrific president in our entire history, Donald Trump.
