As Memory of 2016 Clinton Defeat Lingers, Biden Campaign Manager Warns 2020 Race 'Far Closer' Than You Think

And yet they still refuse to do anything to give people a reason to vote FOR them.

Vote Green.

The DNC leadership has never acknowledged the reasons for popular discontent with both parties. By election eve 2016, Clinton campaign officials had decided on the ‘Russia stole the election’ storyline. Yet, Democratic strategists were well aware that blacks stayed home en masse in 2016. Not voting is just as much an assertion of political will as voting.

NAFTA went into effect in 1994. The real exodus of manufacturing jobs in the U.S. began after China joined the WTO (World Trade Organization) in 2001. However, working class wages began stagnating in the 1970s, aligned with the neoliberal coup that was underway. Fed Chair Paul Volcker engineered what at the time was the worst recession since the Great Depression which crushed the power of labor. Mr. Volcker was appointed by Democrat Jimmy Carter.

The establishment Democrat’s explanation for Mr. Trump’s victory was 1) racist backlash against Barack Obama’s tenure as the first Black President of the U.S., 2) endorsement of Donald Trump’s racist and xenophobic statements by white nationalist and anti-immigrant groups looking for a leader to lead their movement, and 3) a campaign to sow social divisions in the U.S. led by Russia, in particular by Vladimir Putin. That is BS and does not coincide with the fact that many people voted for Barack Obama when he promised change and then voted for Trump when he also promised change. People, black and white, middle class and poor are sick and tired of a Government which completely ignores them except during election cycles.

Democrats and Republicans have conspired to create institutional impediments that make third-party challenges impossible. Democrats and Republicans have conspired to impose a draconian neoliberal economic and industrial policy on the USA. That policy consists of offshoring manufacturing and letting the jobless flounder. This behavior is incompatible with a government of, by and for the people.

The powers that be spent five decades cutting social spending, privatizing, outsourcing and putting more people in prison than any other nation on the planet. The privatized and the privatizers, the outsourced and the outsourcers, and the imprisoned and the imprisoners, might agree or disagree on political issues. But no one is satisfied with the outcome.

The Rust Belt communities were subjected to the twin curses of deindustrialization and neoliberal creep into every aspect of modern life. Hillary promised business as usual. Trump promised to bring jobs back, though he has done nothing to follow through on that promise. Those facts alone explain his unexpected victory in 2016.

I’d left a gig in PA, where we all KNEW and returned to NYC, where to delusional ex-yuppies & Creative Class™ Michael Moore was Pootin’s useful idiot? I’d just figured, watching Colbert making faces, later that night; that John, Debbie & Robby called David Brock from some Hell’s Kitchen bar and he’d said, RussiaRussiaRussia off the top of his head? Our DNC superdelegate neighbors are mostly millionaires, now?

“For every blue-collar Democrat we lose in western Pennsylvania, we will pick up two moderate Republicans in the suburbs in Philadelphia, and you can repeat that in Ohio and Illinois and Wisconsin.” is Chuck a billionaire, yet?

Forget the polls, they are only legitimate in a fair and honest election.

What does the DLC expect when they run a candidate that NO ONE can say “I like him or her”?
In 2016, their ONLY selling point was “Hillary is not Trump”
In 2020, their ONLY selling point is “Joe is not Trump”
But maybe, just maybe, enough people in 2020 are fed up with Trump to put it off.
But countering that, the Trump supporters are so irrationally rabid that Trump may just win again - especially with all of the intentional election irregularities.

Exactly. Trump has done little to nothing good, and a shit load of bad. And that is why for me it’s not about Biden, it’s about trump. The half of the voters that screwed up last time didn’t learn a damn thing. We live in a country of stupid greedy people. I guess we are supposed to learn to live with them if they are the majority voter.
Is it time to forget about being politically proactive, and just melt away into the crowd and environment?

“As democracy is perfected, the office of the President represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day, the plain folks of the land will reach their heart’s desire at last, and the White House will be occupied by a downright fool and a complete narcissistic moron.” HL Mencken 1920

Of course it’s a “hard thing” when you’re trying to sell the same shit that “lost” in 2016.

ignore national polls

interested should review state polls and pay close attention to details.
N= This is the number of voters and potential voters included in the evaluation.
% of error. This relates to the truthfulness of responders in the state and how many responses had to be disregarded.
When Joe leads by 1% and the error percent is 3.6%, the overlap does permit a wink chance that Trump is possible winner in that state.

Some sites provide a rating for particular polls that helps the reader evaluate the quality of the pollsters work.

Just before Thanksgiving, there will be at least six university and private pollsters out here telling us they got it right.

How would they feel if their public sector jobs were outsourced by the millions to African or Indian services firms?

At least that’s not Trump.

The DNC corporate hacks are full of shit. Biden has won the election.

What is disappointing is that Chomsky et al continue to push for Biden without taking concrete action to organize against his right leaning agenda. Sure, Chomsky says protest against Biden after he is president. But Chomsky knows that activism will evaporate as soon as Biden is declared the victor. Unless we plan, now, for demonstrations on Inauguration Day, or some not-too-distant date, it will be a period of inaction among right wing setbacks as it was during Obama’s time in office.

I’m voting Green again, it’s the only way they will learn.

I love Mencken, but we don’t have a Democracy.

Fortunately, Maine has ranked choice voting.
So I voted Green for first choice.
Bernie as a write-in for second choice.
And (ugh) Joe Biden for third choice.

In 2016 the DNC rigged the nomination for the corrupt Hildebeast. Now they rigged it for demented Joe , a 47 year political hack, but they beg for our votes.Joe’s platform seems to be Covid 19. Stop voting for the duopoly. Change will come when we have a People’s Party.

Ranked choice voting is on the ballot in AK this Nov, and both major parties are shitting pickles over it. It got on the ballot by citizen initiative.
