As Trump and GOP Descend on Philadelphia, Protests Erupt In the Streets

Nika Knight, staff writer

People have taken to the streets in response to the Republican Party's retreat in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, voicing outrage and opposition to President Donald Trump's threats to healthcare, the environment, immigration, and human rights.

"If we don't get no justice, they don't get no peace!" the crowd of hundreds chanted as they rallied downtown, where the GOP conference is taking place from Thursday to Friday.

I really hope all the Hillary haters are proud of their achievement: President Trump. Well done, now we have a fascist maniac in charge of the nuclear codes. Oh no, must not vote for the lesser evil. And now we have the worst evil. Go to hell.

#3

Now is the time to see if the citizens have the courage to take back the Republic from democrats and republicans.

We are already in hell. And Democrats, with Obummer at the helm, have been eagerly leading us in this direction. WE have been asleep behind the wheel and allowed both sides of the aisle to screw us in favor of the uber-wealthy.

I am tremendously grateful for the people who are beginning to WAKE UP to the damage being done by the duopoly. Thank you Philadelphians - The protests against corporatized government are only just beginning.

When demagogues and tyrants reach too-far, the people will respond - the mental trump and his cabinet of R'Con extremist billionaires are supplying the rope that will eventually hang them - the nooses are tightening, metaphorically speaking, with every outrage and destructive pronouncement by the naked emperor - there might just be criminal crimes revealed and prosecutions for numerous offenses including conflicts of interest and Constitutional violations among others.

Release trump's tax returns! NOW!

Amazing, fantastic, tremendous, great, many, many, voter fraud, in my opinion, believe me!

"We're gonna find out. And — and, by the way, when I say you're gonna find out. You can never really find, you know, there are gonna be — no matter what numbers we come up with there are gonna be lots of people that did things that we're not going to find out about. But we will find out because we need a better system where that can't happen."
"I know when things are good or bad. A poll just came out on my inauguration speech which was extraordinary that people loved it. Loved and liked. And it was an extraordinary poll." - "I've seen crowds before. Big, big crowds. That was some crowd - we had the biggest audience in the history of inaugural speeches - biggest crowd in history" Donald Trump

I'm still seeing the same delusional BS thinking, BS equivalency crap. Hillary is not equivalent to Trump. The Democrats are not equivalent to the GOP which is a far right wing off the charts movement. I wish we had a true workers' party promoting democratic socialism but it's not happening any time soon. Even Noam Chomsky said to hold your nose and vote for the lesser evil. Now we have an authoritarian nut case in the White House who's dismantling all the good things that Obama did. The GOP is hell bent on dismantling the New Deal, Medicare and Medicaid. But here in CD land, Obama is a fascist dictator, too. And I certainly disagreed with many of his policies. His education policies were horrible, but Betsy DeVos is even worse.

I don't believe it si delusional thinking but rather a well thought out strategy to bring about a socialist revolution. I don't think it has much to do with democratic socialism. I think it is more about socialism, nationalizing industries or workers cooperatives and that sort of thing. In other words, to end capitalism.

Apparently, you aren't paying attention. Hillary won the popular vote by 3 million --- do you think any more votes would have made a difference?! They purged an enormous number of black voters from the polls in the southern states so they could pull out the win thru the Electoral College. How many times do I have to repeat that? If you still think the people have ANY CHOICE at all who gets in power, you need to realize that is no longer true. They love it when people blame each other instead of the REAL villains.

We use to be a joke of the industrial countries, now we are a global joke. Even third world countries think we have gone completely bat sh*t cuckoo. I can smell the stench of buyers remorse everywhere.
We created the monster now how do we destroy it? Fascist are not stopped with prayer chants incantations or reasoning and logic, that just makes them more violent, and this crew has the nuclear codes and a whole army of gestapo thugs at their disposal. Rome collapsed under its own stupidity, Germany, we had to intervene against their insanity as well as With Japan's imperial dreams.
This regime is in love with Putin and fond of quoting Benito Mussolini. What now Trumpers?

They won't have far to go, Joe!

"They love it when people blame each other instead of the REAL villains."
Precisely.

#14

It isn't about Hillary any more. Time to move on.

Hillary hated the populist message of Sanders, and her personal PAC DNC thought it a neat idea to prop up Trump through their connections in the MSM.

Clinton crushed the true populist who was polling way ahead of Clinton in match-ups against Trump, and that left the fake populist standing.

After the crushing of Sanders' campaign was complete, along with the maligning of Sanders supporters and having muted their voices literally with white noise machines at the convention, it was easy to predict a Trump victory.

I have called out those on the left who actively supported Trump.

However your comment is directed at anyone having had valid criticisms of Clinton during her campaign. I can't tell you how many times I was branded a Clinton hater because I expressed criticism of her 2 year $29,000 per day speaking tour of her major corporate core constituency.

You need to come to grips with the bigger picture.

Clinton and corporate Democrats are the most responsible for the advent of Trump, an out and out fascist in the White House.

And how about those Democrats voting for the pro torture CIA director?

How about that Obama in his last few days of his presidency refusing to declassify the torture report (he jailed the whistleblower you might recall) and making it easier for Trump's NSA to just hand off bulk surveillance data to domestic agencies.

Perfect timing for the incoming fascist administration.
