As Trump-North Korea Talks Falter, South Korea Says 'Landmine' John Bolton to Blame

Jake Johnson, staff writer

Characterizing U.S. national security adviser John Bolton as a human "landmine" on Monday, a South Korean lawmaker reportedly joined others who have made clear their belief that Bolton is the true culprit behind faltering diplomatic efforts ahead of a planned meeting between President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un next month.

"There are several land mines on the way to the summit between North Korea and the U.S. One of those land mines just exploded: John Bolton."
—Chung Dong-young, South Korean lawmaker

Trump has to be a closet Democrat. One would think that appointing these troglodytes to high positions is a sure fire way for Republicans to lose.

Bolton has chosen the correct path to enriching himself and his associates handsomely by the war industry for being their cheer leader in chief.
What an ass hole he remains.

Build freedom and democracy. Attack through Iran, Korea and Afghanistan. Use the orange orangutang special forces to secure the coast to coast eurasian railway. Spray monsanto’s bayer oil on Russia’s organic fields and take over building departments world-wide. Don’t give anybody but US oligarchs permits. Allow only the us economy to grow and impose income taxes world-wide. Build freedom and democracy.

very funny, natureboy

problem is, if republicans lose, then democrats win?

Haven’t we done this ping pong game straight to the abyss, ever since Vietnam?

Trump of course never intended on allowing North and South Korea to resolve their differences peacefully.

Nor do “centrists” like Rachel Maddow “progressives” who parrot every clucking General that appears on MSM that Trump was potentially being dangerously hoodwinked by NK and was wiling to capitulate.

Another instance of “centrists” being the war mongers they are. They just need to do some better analysis of the Trump Administration’s intentions (prior to Bolton as well) and then be honest and give Trump his due. On this they are on the same team. Come on Rachel, cheerfully admit it! What’s Rachel without cheezy constant cheer!

People like Democratic Socialists now. Democrats may be along for the ride before they fade into oblivion.

The appointment and acceptance of John Bolton was in itself a threat to both Koreas and a lot of other people.

What’s new here is the response of both Korean governments to try to work out some deal around the US, and the willingness of South Korea to openly break from the US positions to do so.

Democratic socialists are caretakers of interesting history. Can this manifestation live up to its name? We are needing emergency social medicine and not many other ideologies can actually support and then use nonhierarchical autonomous democracy to focus distributed human intelligence. I’m a democratic socialist.

Which Democrat last appointed Bolton? Get a grip. That you made me defend Democrats should be as great a shame to you as it is distasteful to me.

Another criminal on the loose. Thanks Obama.

Only a true moron would allow this moron to come out from under the rock that he dwells under to have a position where his drivel is heard.

Some could argue that purity tests let the fascists take over. (I wrote in Bernie BTW).

Am I the only one who is wishing with all of his heart that this crusty old creep bolton contracts ebola or develops an inoperable, excruciatingly painful and malignant tumor in his stomach that takes so long to kill him that he’ll think its his new career? I hear stomach cancer is the most painful cancer so naturally that is what it deserves. I would literally pay every cent I have and give everything I own to be able to watch the life drain from that wretched dirty freak’s eyes in real time. Super bonus points to the universe if jeff sessions goes out with him - although I cannot think of a suitably inhumane and painful enough way for that monster to have to go. I would like the very last thing he sees to be me smashing his ugly wifes face with a bottle of Proseco, popping the cap, and pounding the entire bottle in celebration of his death. I can’t be the only one who would pay for the privilege of taunting that disgusting old creep while he is on his death bed. It does not even deserve to be considered a human, let a alone treated with even a modicum of dignity. And when it finally stops breathing we can just throw its body in a dumpster where it belongs or put it down the garbage disposal.

The fascists don’t seem to have any purity problems to get together on candidates. Their bible says thou shall not steal or kill and that’s what they seem to be best at.

Besides, how can we expect to depend on politicians when the system is rigged for the highest bidder?

Trump and his cabinet are the richest in history as a white house, and the most unqualified to be representing the entire American public instead of just the WHITE rich and corporations.

Direct democracy could elect another Trump. It certainly will never elect a progressive.

What make you think as a minority fringe group (Of which I am one of) is going to elect a president or any member of congress? There chances are nil.
People do not support peacemongers, They do support warmongers. War is easier to sell than peace.

Swiss direct democracy has kept them out of wars for nearly 200 years although Switzerland has been surrounded by warring nations.

Hermann Goering – The People Can Always Be Brought to the Bidding of the Leaders
“Why, of course, the people don’t want war. Why would some poor slob on a farm want to risk his life in a war when the best that he can get out of it is to come back to his farm in one piece. Naturally, the common people don’t want war; neither in Russia nor in England nor in America, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy or a fascist dictatorship or a Parliament or a Communist dictatorship…
Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country.”
– Hermann Goering (as told to Gustav Gilbert during the Nuremberg trials)

The Swiss are outliers in Europe who didn’t support war before they had democracy. It is not because of democracy, direct or otherwise, but the Swiss people themselves. They are the only western europe country that didn’t colonize around the world. The Swiss prefer not to war against anyone. And the Swiss were lucky that they have one of the most defensible countries in the world while war waged around them. Plus holding quite a bit of the world’s wealth in their banks also helps. Anyone who attacked the Swiss would be goring the ox of another country. Even Hitler didn’t think of attacking the Swiss.
And Goering is correct about people and how to get them to support war. It has been used in the US and elsewhere long before Goering ever even thought of those words. He just looked at history and saw the truth of the matter.
The history of the US has been using war to create an empire. And by the use of american exceptionalism, the American people love their empire. Look around and see how they idolize the military. We’re #1 w/o any thought as to what that really means, how many people die because of our using war to get what we want.
I watch trump brag about our military and threats to N. Korea that they better submit to us or else our great military machine will be used against them. He prepares the people to accept a war against N. Korea though it would be the worse military adventure in our history. I use the word adventure because war is an adventure to the american people. All glory to the US.
We will be involved in another war soon enough and the american people will support it when it has been packaged and sold to them. Brought to you by our corporate sponsors.
