As Trump Vows to Rid DOJ of 'Lingering Stench,' Ted Lieu Warns of Obstruction of Justice if Rosenstein is Fired

Julia Conley, staff writer

Rep. Ted Lieu (D-Calif.) warned President Donald Trump against an obvious possible obstruction of justice as Trump hinted at firing Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein at a rally late Friday.

Trump’s mental illness is dangerous to individuals, to our nation, and to our world. He’s psychologically unfit to be President and needs to be removed, as soon as possible. But even after 1 & 1/2 years, none of the legal removal mechanisms are being enacted. In this dilemma, the only recourse seems to be to restrain Trump’s worst actions. Yet many people here are putting abstract principles above actual dangers and actual harmful results caused by Trump.

Question: if Trump wanted to start a nuclear war (merely on an irrational, angry impulse) would any of you argue that “it is his legal right to do so” (regardless of whether it was militarily justified, and regardless of the horrific mass deaths that would result)? Or, would you prefer that a top White House official (who was appointed by Trump and who Trump was legally entitled to fire) prevented Trump’s nuclear war order from being enacted?

Would you want that disobedient official to be fired by Trump – and let Trump start a nuclear war – just because Trump “has the legal right to do so”?

In a dangerous dilemma (like Trump causes), sometimes ideal principles (like Trump’s legal rights as President) need to be (and deserve to be) overridden by even more vital, practical principles (like preventing devastating, unbearable harm caused by Trump’s legal, but extremist, wrongful actions).

Trump Is The Lingering Stench.

#6

Many of us have personally witnessed individuals with mental illness in our lives.

Some of us may have also had relatives or friends suffering from some form or another of this debilitating disease.

Personally, I don’t know how anyone alive today who has a TV, and has watched the behavior of Mushroom Dick Trump for the past 19 months, can honesty say, Trump is perfectly normal.

That said, the 25th Amendment can and should be utilized at the earliest possible time.

Trump Vows to Rid DOJ of ‘Lingering Stench’ — Julia Conley, staff writer

No, Trump alone is not the lingering stench — he is merely the largest and smelliest of the many turds floating at the top of the former swamp known as Washington, D.C., which Tweetle-Dumb and his 'Poop-Licken allies have turned into the largest cesspool in North America.

*   *   *   *   *

IIRC, Hitler controlled Germany with a National Socialist (‘NAZI’) Party comprised of only about 5% of the citizenry, and Stalin controlled the Soviet Union with a Communist Party of which fewer than 4% of citizens were members.  Today, even after Tweetle-Dumb has gone to great lengths to prove that he’s in it only for himself (and maybe his family), more that 30% of D’murikuns still support him. The odds that what little is left of “our” democracy will survive for another decade are not good.

Yes, a Lingering stench, emanating from the Oval office.

Even tho trump is a symptom, albeit an extremist dangerous mental-case “symptom”, and there are many behind the symptom, we must, within the realistic mechanisms available to us, rid America (and the world) of this clear and present danger.malignant cretin!

What that means is voting to rid us of his Congressional base and elect “the other” even tho “the other” are and were complicit, and also a large part of the corporate uber-wealthy oligarchy in many cases. First we eliminate trump and his power to rule by executive fiat and destroy everything in his evil path and then we force and/or eliminate the Democrat DINO complicit scum! Is there an alternative? Just go to sleep and bear it? BS!

There are people who rail against the Dems and none more than I,and rightly so, but there comes a time people must triage the danger and treat the most in need. This fuckin pig cannot be allowed to reign any longer and whatever it takes to limit his power until we can eliminate him and send him to prison, we must do! The DINO sellout scum we can take-on later - regardless what the “real left” proposes/suggests that we must vote for no one or tolerate this idiot child’s mania and mental diseased mind evil, if “we” do nothing there will be nothing left to save!

I may be ranting now, and I am, but the reality as I see it, is either we fight as if our lives depended on it or fold the tent…and they do!..the DINO sellouts are a very big part of the problem that must be removed as well, but for fucks sake, we are being driven over the goddamn edge at speed and nothing at the bottom but death and more subversion of our republic and destruction of what little has been accomplished, or preserved, or protected or helped over the last 50 plus years is being thrown into trumps garbage heap!

Sorry, I’m having a very bad day…

And another thing…thanks to Ted Lieu, but where TF are the other’s warning and demanding and putting their bodies on the freakin line? Schumer? Not fuckin likely! Pelosi?..even more unlikely. The DINO sellout scum supporting the Red Queen, put us here, and now they bail-out like frightened craven rabbits, complicit to the enormity of the rule of evil and greed!

I want to see more…much freakin more and if not forthcoming, then those will be the first targeted for removal and end to their corrupt complicity and perfidy!

Tell us how you really feel, Emphyrio!
Vent your spleen for the ones who should be doing it for US. It’s time to take the gloves off!

I don’t think we’re going to see Trump firing Rosenstein until all of the FBI and DOJ documents which Trump has requested be declassified are released in unredacted form. At that point, there’s apparently more than a strong possibility that a number of upper level people within the FBI and the DOJ and, perhaps, several Democratic members of Congress will be charged with crimes, including Rosenstein. The FBI and DOJ are currently stalling with regard to Trump’s order; so, it’s unlikely all documents will be released before the November elections.

The reason that Trump will likely wait until after the November elections is that Trump listens to the legal commentary of Mark Levin (and often has Levin on his show), who in the broadcast linked immediately below is warning Trump that the purpose of the very recent New York Times piece on Rosenstein is to make Trump jump the gun; and, fire Rosenstein prior to the elections. Levin believes that Trump’s opposition is thinking is that if Trump were to fire Rosenstein now, the Dems would have a much better chance of taking both houses; and, stopping the declassification and release of these FISA warrant application documents and other related documents.

Edit of above post:

The reason that Trump will Likely wait until after the November elections is that Trump listens to Hannity and Hannity often has Mark Levin on his show to offer legal commentary. Mark Levin has his own show and in his recent broadcast linked immediately below is warning Trump that the purpose of the very recent New York Times piece on Rosenstein is to make Trump jump the gun; and, fire Rosenstein prior to the elections. Levin believes that Trump’s opposition is thinking is that if Trump were to fire Rosenstein now, the Dems would have a much better chance of taking both houses; and, stopping the declassification and release of these FISA warrant application documents and other related documents.

And, this evening (Sep, 22), Hannity warned Trump that he’s being set up; and, he should not fire Rosenstein.

What I want to say I won’t because it would get me in trouble.

Ted Lieu is a lying, disgusting, hypocritical, two faced, sickening, tool of the Military Industrial Complex.

He does NOT resist Trump. No. You know what he does?

He votes to increase Trump’s military budget to heights never imagined before. You know that sickening John McCain Defense authorization bill that increased our military budget to $716,000,000,000? (You know the one that spends what it would take a $15 minimum wage earner over 23,000,000 years working full time to earn?) Guess how Ted Lieu, self righteous “Trump would be obstructing justice” Ted Lieu voted?

Yes, you got it. He voted to give all that to Trump.

These people disgust me. Simply disgust me. If you oppose Trump, Mr. Lieu, then why don’t you do your duty and deprive him of funds? But no. Instead you make empty speeches about obstruction of justice if Trump fires an underling who serves at his pleasure if it turns out true the fellow was working against his boss.

The world is crazy. But now I’ll guess I’ll read the comments here and see how many of my fellow commenters think this hypocrite is a hero and to be gushed over.

Leave Rosenstein there he has become a rotting albatross around the neck of the permanent state. He is useful as he takes the heat from Mueller and serves as a reminder to all that setting up an open ended inquisition is a mug’s game.

“Americans seem perfectly willing to consign their fates to the billionaires and centi-millionaires who spent the past several decades rigging the system, which included corralling us into wage peonage in the name of the almighty free market.”

“The juggernaut that was launched off the down escalator at Trump Tower back in 2015 rolls on, strewing bodies and busted parts in its wake and one hell of a nasty stink, yet roll it does with undiminished vigor.”

“We, America, elected Trump. Putin didn’t do it, nor the trolls in St Petersburg with their zillions of busy bots. They may well have plucked certain strings in the national psyche – played us like a dimestore ukulele – but we were keen to be plucked.”

“What will break the spell? Time – ripeness is all. The accumulation of one too many realities. Joe McCarthy had his army hearings; there will come a similar moment that shocks the country into mass loathing for Trump, but until then many lives will be lost and many more permanently wrecked.” - Ben Fountain

Followed up immediately by impeachment!

#19

Impeachment, Indictment, Incarceration.

Or, Incineration.

Give him a choice.

#20

Excellent point! Trump is a mental case that really needs to be put in a strait jacket and committed to an institution for the criminally insane, before it is too late.

#21

From my perspective, not a civil war but a nuclear war started by probably the most dangerous man the world has ever seen! Worse than Hitler, because Hitler did not have nuclear weapons.

#22

Trump’s own stench should have been called out with mass protesting 50 or more phony statements ago. What a gullible nation we are. If we don’t stand up, we deserve getting stomped on. Republicans would not let “any” democrat get away with this constant slurry of slime. G

Not as bad as Hitler, until he starts eliminating lives. But he is worse because his motives involve riches as much as fame. After all, he is so good looking, and so smart, and so just. I think I’m gonna puke.
