Has anyone heard of a representative or senator with seniority attempting to alert the people to environmental collapse?

Seniority is touted to be great for putting members of congress in charge of things.

How many headlines have you read from a senior member of congress attempting to heal the damages from capitalism? None? Why? They are busy lining up campaign donations from the corporations destroying Earth and escaping taxes.
