“Ethics” and Trump admin? “Ethics” and GOP-dominated Congress? “Ethics” and Supreme Court? “Ethics” and big business, Wall St.? Hmmm…good luck with that…

The republicans have assiduously taken over the most of the levers of power since 2001. Might can overtake right temporarily but, might can not make right…

Trump is at least delusional. Barr is one plotting son-of-a-bitch–a more palpable threat to our democracy in the long run. He and the whole unitary executive gang need to be pilloried. Hell, the Constitution all but directly says so, and where it doesn’t many writings of the founders and their contemporaries do.

Even if Barr goes-----(unlikely)

What is unfolding right now in these “hearings” for ACB is chilling and terrifying.

Amy Coney Barrett made clear that she will help secure trump’s power when she refused to answer whether a president can delay an election.

trump et al will put her on the court, contest the election (which Biden will win)—it will go to SCOTUS and trump will avoid prison and expand authoritarianism in this country.

well it goes with out saying that Barr needs to be impeached for the reasons given here, but also because it could derail the SCOTUS- sham confirmations. As one might have predicted, we are not seeing very much,if any monkey wrenching from those fighting democrats. Looks like this nomination is all but wrapped up.

To use ethics and the GOP in the same sentence, is an oxymoron that only Trump, morons can swallow! The GOP is now Trump’s Party and nothing but a Mafiaocracy. Like using honest, fair and ethical in the same sentence with the Mafia.

Excellent point concerning the Democrats. They should have impeached Trump for his grievous mishandling of the coronavirus months ago. But doing something that logical might seem too radical for the centrist Democrats.

Good luck getting democrats to do anything.

That is the nightmare scenario that we are all facing! That would end any democracy we have left.

Our decades long habits of no accountability has succeeded in making the US of America ungovernable with no laws capable of being used against the corrupt. The US is not a law and order country since the politicians have been bought out by billionaires and ALEC has written the laws in many states.
Nixon was not held accountable for his corruption nor Reagan but republicans did try to hold Clinton accountable for??? and spent in the 90’s $600,000,000 trying to convict the Clinton of something and finally did find that Clinton lied to Congress about his affairs in oval office. Nor was Bush/Cheney/Rumsfield held accountable by Obama. Let’s just move forward has been wrong, wrong, wrong.
WE NEED ACCOUNTABILITY, can our politicians not walk and chew gum? How many different committees are there? Can’t one committee be prosecuting corrupt politicians and corporation? Can’t the administration be working with other committees to make America a real law and order country with justice and opportunity for all?

No accountability for decades at least six is the problem. All politicians, institutions know they can get away with pretty much everything along with corporate CEO’s.

It all boils down to the lack of accountability for the last six decades. No crook is scared of our laws of loopholes.

This article is the best laugh I’ve had today. Barr has been running roughshod over the DOJ and justice in general since his appointment, exactly as his handlers at the CIA wanted it. But now, 3 weeks before the election, he must be removed.
Has a Clown College opened up in DC, I didn’t hear about?

The Ukraine impeachment was really telling. The DNC chose specifically the weakest of all things they could impeach him over, and then whined when the WH and GOP wouldn’t play along. How many subpoenas were ignored?

What you mean-um “appears”, Kemo(s) Sabé(s)??   Barr has obviously been violating his Oath of Office since the first day that he took office.   IMHO, if the Founding Fathers had not wanted to limit the power of an autocratic executive they would not have included a process to remove same in the Constitution.   IMPEACH Barr NOW!!!

IIRC an Impeachment Trial would take precedence over nearly all other Senate business, effectively postponing the confirmation of ACB at least until after the Nov. 3 election.  Even if Barr-Barr were not thrown out, an attempt at impeachment would do at least SOME good.

They do have “ethics”, their own, not yours or mine, and therefore an ethical clash…

O’Bummer & P’Loser not only let the liars who led us into the arid quagmire of the wars in Middle East off Scot free, they gave actual War Criminals Haspel and Prince – currently “serving” in the present “administration” – a free pass
as well.  Ditto Mnuchin and his fellow banksters.   Washington D.C. is NOT a swamp, it is a CESSPOOL!

Nice catch, perhaps your right about tying up senate business, the cynic in me failed to see that side of the equation.

The last thing we need is a politically impotent 267-page term paper by a bunch of lawyers imploring a cowered and sold out House to do something it will never do. I think too much attention is being paid to legalistic tactics to forestall fascism and not enough to building up anti-fascist organizations and movements.
