Bernie Sanders Says It Is 'Nauseating' to See Corporations Praise Frontline Workers as 'Heroes' While Refusing to Pay Them More

Originally published at http://www.commondreams.org/news/2020/05/22/bernie-sanders-says-it-nauseating-see-corporations-praise-frontline-workers-heroes

Napoleon started the idea of issuing medals instead of monetary rewards for military bravery/sacrifice. Up until then, soldiers who merited special recognition were given what would today be bonuses, often quite substantial. General Lafayette, for example, awarded Captain Daniel Shays a valuable sword (which Shays later was forced to sell because Massachusetts “paid” him for his military service only in worthless paper money).

The Psychopaths In Charge really enjoy providing only empty words and trinkets instead of substantive benefits for valuable behavior.

it’s also nauseating seeing Sanders’ campaign extract written pledges to his delegates to not speak “ill” of Joe Biden during the campaign. That’s pretty nauseating, too.

But yeah, just to stay on topic, sure, it’s pretty gross, Bernie. And it’s also perfectly predictable.

Now stop stifling your people’s right to speech.

Here, in NYC, it was like a geriatric WWI battle… only, the lieutenants and majors posted occasional phone video & terrified tweets; verifying Trump, Cuomo, de Blasio & our private equity multinationals’ liquidated medical system & privatized, market-driven, efficient, “just-in-time,” lawyer-written protocols & emergency response plan had become a slaughterhouse. It’s academic, that many have become radicalized from this lesson? DNC, conglomerate media and silenced internet & social media feeds the top 10% of both corrupt parties their fill of bullshit about their RECOVERY.

But they are heroes:
Human shields protecting the billionaires from the proletariate.

Purple Heart medal was established by George Washington and quite a while before the little French General.

includes a $200 billion “Heroes Fund” aimed at providing hazard pay for frontline workers, but the proposal’s fate is unclear in the Republican-controlled Senate

REALLY… unclear??? Unless it can be amended to give that 200 Billion directly to the Corporations and the 1% who control them, I seriously doubt its fate is unclear

My texts are now with friends in Miami, Panama City, NOLA, Portland, Little Rock. In obdurate denial, December through March, as we got it. Now, utter panic, befuddled and still at work well into “retirement.” Same, thing here in NY with our brainwashed boomer liberals. “Oh, you’re just exaggerating. Don’t spread unfounded rumors, like Trump’s morons!” Our totally accurate info was coming from Korean, Taiwanese, Chinese medical research by the surviving nurses, doctors and early reports from NYC’s horrified paramedics, nurses, first-responders as to what was going on that the media will never be permitted to say. They’ll only learn how hide our bodies, how to lie progressively better, as this spreads. How to better SILENCE whistle-blowers & any pathetic attempts at journalism or dissent. Anybody surprised by Sanders’ pledge?

Bernie continues to disappoint. These written pledges that he wants his delegates to sign to not criticize Biden or anyone in the dem establishment is tantamount to him endorsing the Bad Bernie Bros narrative. He is so frightened about being called the reason Trump wins again that he is capitulating to DP and admitting that they are right about his supporters being disruptive to the party…pathetic! I lose more respect for him daily. Time to move on from Bernie. Past time.

There really is no port in this storm.

Ecuyer’s fellow mercenaries, whom Franklin suggested use of smallpox blankets, attack dogs and poisoned alcohol, during Pontiac’s insurrection against the colonies mostly returned to British military auxiliary units, as militia grunts were awarded homesteads (now, mysteriously vacated by Lenape, Wyandotte, Shawnee & Mingo victims). Only to discover, belatedly: rumors of Shawnee’s “extirpation” were somewhat premature & Washington’s sending 13K craven, impoverished militia to shoot rebellious ssettlers trying to sell their rye, down the Ohio… well, shit don’t ever change?

Who? said What?
Bernie is dead to me, I want my money Back!

Understanding how to motivate people to work at their peak performance and at the minimum of expense is the acme of skill for a corporate manager. Their only concern is the bottom line, and that’s it. This is why they should not be allowed in any way to influence legislation or politics, and why executives themselves should have to be held responsible for the repercussions of their actions, not “limited liability”.

It was so upsetting to read about that pledge Bernie is forcing upon his delegates that (this is a good thing) I shut out all news for the day. I am sorry I allowed myself to get pulled into his campaign in 2019 and donated money of which I have very little as well as time phone banking.

This headline is nauseating to me on so many levels.

For Bernie to blindly support the shameless neoliberal democrats and then try to silence dissent is beyond the pale.

He wants his supporters to shut up and just vote for the neoliberal, alleged rapist while said neoliberal alleged rapist hosts closed door fundraisers that rake in $$$$ from Wall Street and kicks out the press.

If Bernie stays silent on these things it is inexcusable. What a waste of time getting behind this sham of a “political revolution”

The fundraiser was hosted by Roger Altman, the founder of [Evercore Inc.] Blair Effron, founder of [Centerview Partners]

Joe Biden KICKS Media out of Exclusive Wall Street Fundraiser

Bernie’s words and actions are yet another realm of crazy making. He wants people to shut up and vote for Biden, yet rails vociferously against Wall Street, corporations etc. when Biden epitomizes what he is railing against.

This is what the man he wants us to (shut up and) vote for said yesterday----- I guess he doesn’t want anyone to voice concern over this???

The former vice president did an interview with Charlemagne the God a co-host of the radio show “The Breakfast Club.” Charlamagne had pressed Biden on a number of issues, including the legalization of marijuana and his choice of running mate.

After a campaign aide interjected to say Biden had to wrap it up, Charlamagne said, “Listen, you’ve got to come see us when you come to New York, VP Biden. It’s a long way until November. We’ve got more questions.”

“You’ve got more questions?” Biden replied. “Well I tell you what, if you have a problem figuring out whether you’re for me or Trump, then you ain’t black.”

“It don’t have nothing to do with Trump Charlamagne protested. “It has to do with the fact – I want something for my community.”

“Take a look at my record, man!” Biden said, before claiming his decades-long record as a senator and vice president was “second to none.”

Democratize the enterprise, one person one vote, from the workplace to the governance place.

Charlemagne the God is a much better interviewer than a Joy Reid, Don Lemon or Rev. Sharpton of the MSM. Too bad he’s working with such lousy material in POTUS Wannabe Joe.
Joe Biden remains the same; as in, he’s the same worthless politic hack he was in 1988, in his first attempt at becoming Sellout-in Chief. When Ol’ Joe says, " look at my record " I almost want to throw away my old record player. I said almost.
Bernie & Warren continue to backpedal, it’s sad. Pretty soon they’ll be back in 1988, with Ol’Joe.

Sorry for your nausea Joe, but if Karma has anything to do with it, you’ve got several million more cases of it to come, one for every one of your die-hard supporters who had to endure you selling them out to a demented, corrupt, unDemocratic party, corporate whore.

Hero turned Zero. That’s some CHRONIC nausea.

Thanks for reminding us. Not.

Bernie Sanders has run both campaigns like an autocrat, providing no opportunity for feedback from the bottom up, just directives from the top down. While this, of course, was in massive contradiction to his official message that change “never comes from the top down, only from the bottom up,” I was willing to suspend my doubts because his campaign seemed like the best way to move forward. In hindsight, it looks as though Bernie’s campaign took all of the anti-system energy in our country and channeled it into a drainage sluice.

It’s time to start demanding the real truth about the Sanders campaign. BERNIE OWES US AN EXPLANATION BIG TIME.
