So when we hear all the chirping about freedom as the American way, it is crucial to recognize the very circumscribed meaning of this 'freedom'.
This freedom is primarily a freedom for private enterprise to do what it wants, free from democratic direction. Private enterprise is handed the reigns of power and the masses are shut out. It is also a freedom to lie, hide, misrepresent, slander, deny and attack accurate critics. Because of the corporate concentration of wealth, this freedom then becomes the right to do whatever is required to ensure profits. Corporations have the funds and the minions to accomplish their goals.
But this isn't freedom at all - just bald faced power control.
Freedom only starts to make sense in a socially responsible, authentic democracy. Since this is nonexistent in many countries, including America, there is no real freedom in this sense. The corporatocracy rules without democratic license. Fascism is not freedom.
