Bill Barr Must Not Be Sessions 2.0 on Civil Rights

Vanita Gupta

The Senate Judiciary Committee is set to begin confirmation hearings on Tuesday for William Barr, President Trump’s nominee to lead the Department of Justice. Given that the president is holding the country hostage over his vanity project at the Southern border resulting in the longest ever government shutdown, it is no surprise that Barr’s nomination has largely flown below the radar.

“Senators must obtain assurances from Barr that he will embrace and enforce our federal civil rights laws, not seek to undermine them” Are you kidding??? Didn’t they do that for all nominees (Sessions, Gorsuch, Kavagnauh, Roberts etc., ad nauseum) ? And then when the nominee lies through his teeth they say I guess he is O.K. after all and vote for the obvious liars. If Alex Jones was up for nomination and said he is no longer into conspiracy theories they would vote for him.

Bill Barr will be Sessions 2.0 on civil rights. He would be the perfect husband for Roseanne Barr.

I just read something on FAIR, which told of pardoning all the people that were liars and cheats under the first Bush, and then were pardoned for their Iran-Contra stuff. Barr was one of the pardoned . Maybe the best thing to do is to BAR BARR, : (

The sorted truth is painful to hear.

Maybe we need more plumbers cracks, pencil sharpeners, and street singers to run for office. After all, Trump made it.

Republicans don’t care and, likely, Barr is the best they can get. Otherwise, the Giuliani hearings could be a mess.
