'Billionaires for President': Howard Schultz Heckled at Tennessee Event

Eoin Higgins, staff writer

"Billionaires for president!"

That was the sarcastic rallying cry former Starbucks CEO and current billionaire Howard Schultz heard from protesters during his appearance Sunday at the Unrig Summit in Nashville, Tennessee.

Schultz's appeared at the self-described "premier right-left summit to solve America's political crisis" for an interview with former Gehl Foods CEO Katherine Gehl.

Another ‘incremental change’ politician that would be mainstream candidate in the wall street wing of the democrat party.

Definition: ‘Incremental Change’
A process of stalling used by democrats since 1776 or there abouts.

His campaign slogan should be: “and two Iced Cinnamon Cloud Macchiatos in every fridge.”

Would any serious person campaign for him? Perhaps if they are in need of dark money.

I don’t think this guy would even be for what you refer to as “incremental change”, That term has always bothered me anyway, to me it means NO change. Anyway, we’ve had enough of THAT kind of no change for way too many years. Time for the change of Sanders, Ocasio-Cortez and a form of the Euro Democratic Socialism that has worked so well in MANY of the European countries since WWII and before.

A low life like him can “FIX” just about anything.

As a country, we have made it to a place where, everything is for sale.

Even our freedom.

Yet, the majority of us haven’t got the memo, "Vote for Good Representatives, Not for Evil Corporate Politicians."

"People, Planet, and Peace Before Profit."

Well, at least he’s a REAL billionaire or so we are told.
His running is for the usual reasons that billionaires do anything , attention , power, boredom , greed and in this case a delusional BS story that he wants to help the people . :joy::joy::joy::joy::joy:

I’m not sure anymore that the masses in this country will ever tire of he lies and corruption they vote for as the Duopoly throws them pennies for their allegiance.

We have a broken population, oblivious to their ignorance.

Hopefully, enlightenment and intellectual understanding will be this new generation’s inheritance.

He will run as an Independent only if Bernie, and maybe Warren, is the Democratic nominee.

My definition: FAKE OPPOSITION!

It’s hard not to conclude that Schultz would siphon more votes away from Trump than he would a leftie like Bernie. Someone tell me why I’m wrong.

Can you imagine how much Starbucks stock would soar if Schultz became POTUS!

Schultz has nothing in common with Bernie, so nobody will change their votes either way with both of them.

On the other hand, Trump’s just another rich asshole like Schultz, so voters impressed by wealth and status may shuffle votes between the two of them.

What I think is great for the incremental change folks is that while they can show that things often do change incrementally, they don’t seem bothered by the fact that for most of the country, our democracy, the environment, things have been getting incrementally worse for decades now. The incremental ideas sound so wonderful, if you don’t have to prove that things get incrementally better and can just infer these things. Like, it makes total sense, provided that you too have an aversion to macroeconomic data and trends going back decades. If the infrastructure gap, or the decades of stagnating wages and exploding inequality aren’t much of a concern, then incremental your way to happiness Mr. Schultz. I think if you work hard, you could get a dozen people outside of your family to vote for you. If the Democrats pick another dud, more likely than not, that might be enough for them to lose. What wonderful options this system provides us, right? Thank god the rich like this clown control the thing. Surely the country is better for as a result?

I don’t agree with attacking him because of him being a “spoiler”, I think that is an undemocratic mentality. This is a democracy, and no one, NO ONE, owes their vote to either of the two major parties. He, however, is not running to make the world a better place, offers nothing on policy, and has no chance to win. Him not being likely to win doesn’t mean he shouldn’t run, him not winning and having horrible ideas is the issue. What is the reason he would run, other than to try and stop changes he opposes largely for class reasons? It would be one thing if he were a Debs like figure that wanted to challenge dominant powerful interests, but he isn’t. He’s a rich dude with crappy ideas that wants to maintain an undemocratic, inequitable, corrupt and environmentally destructive political and economic system. But he has every right to run, and, again, no one owes a damn thing to either major party. It isn’t their damn political system, it is ours, and if someone wants to run and embarrass themselves, free country.

Well, incremental change for the 99%. Nuclear change for 1%

That’s the Billionaire way.

Can’t - you’re correct in my view. No one is jumping from Bernie to this guy - They might jump from Biden to Howie
Another Billionaire with no legislative track record. I don’t vote on faith any more (= Blue no matter who)
No more legislative f*cking amateurs. I need to see a solid voting track record that has supported me rather than Corporations and the 1% - first. Screw this clown.

If Schultz indeed steals votes from the Democratic candidate for President then this merely proves the Democrats a right wing party.

A legitimate candidate for the progressive movement , with a desire to protect the environment, implement medical care for all , address the warfare state with calls for cuts in military spending and one who would address wealth inequality would not lose a SINGLE voter to Donald Trump.

Democrats won’t allow a true progressive… the WAPO has already published numerous hit pieces on Bernie and i’m sure if Tulsi gains traction she will be treated the same.

the democrats are a right wing party of capital…
