Blundering Tony Blair Quits as Middle East Peace Envoy – Only Israel Will Miss Him

Robert Fisk

Tony Blair’s time as Middle East envoy representing the US, Russia, the UN and the EU has finally come to an end. Eight years after he took up the role, Blair tendered his resignation and left one question: how come a war criminal ever became a “peace envoy” in the first place?

Alas Tony Blair did not achieve the catastrophe in the middle east on his own. He was definitely one of the figureheads and chief promoters of the event, but governments are far more complex that you think. The civil services, the legislative, the judiciary, the cabinet, the armed services, MSM, intelligence agencies, and a raft of faceless nameless enablers and facilitators all colluded to make it happen.

So by all means good riddance to TB, but remember you may have got rid of Ali Baba, but the forty thieves are still in charge!

That is not true.

"The man who never said he was sorry for his political disaster"

The man who never apologised for lying to the British Parliament and who should have resigned after being caught in his lie about those 45 minutes to destruction. Or who should have been sacked for lying to Parliament by the Head of State, Queen Elizabethh II.

Back in 1964, Ernest Profumo, Minister for Defence, was having fun with an attractive young woman who was also involved with others including a Russian. Profumo lied to Parliament about his affair (just sex, rather than starting a war) and when caught out, resigned and never returned to Parliament. He spent much of his latter years helping people of limited means in London.

What a contrast! And Profumo was a Conservative, not a member of the Labour Party, which originated as a vehicle for human rights at the turn of the 1900s.

Bliar did not "make a mistake". He deliberately and with malice of forethought helped start an illegal war of aggression, which was opposed by around 80% of the British population.

"Alas Tony Blair did not achieve the catastrophe in the middle east on his own...[blah, blah, blah].and a raft of faceless nameless enablers and facilitators all colluded to make it happen."

Don't forget all the atoms that make up those countless enablers!
So, your point is?

It is as clear as bell, Blair traded his political influence for financial gain. The result was a hurricane of misery for untold tens of thousands of people who never were a threat to Britain and the deaths of many of Britains Own. Unforgivable by any reckoning.

Tony Blair Witch Project should never have been appointed as Mideast envoy. He worked for peace in Northern Ireland but dd the opposite in the Middle East. He worked for more war and chaos. He should be locked up at the ICC along with Bush, Cheney etc.

Thanks for the punch Robert Fisk, it was placed properly: just in the middle of the face of our Modern patriarchal unethical values.
