Big problem. Perception of the powers that were still believe they’re the “powers that be”.
It doesn’t matter who leads the CA delegation.
Any d-party nod toward MFA or the GND is going to be window dressing.
Furthermore, in a replay of election strategy over decades, the d-party is more interested in gaining Repub votes than votes from their former base. Just ask Chuck Schumer:
“For every blue-collar Democrat we lose in western Pennsylvania, we will pick up two moderate Republicans in the suburbs in Philadelphia, and you can repeat that in Ohio and Illinois and Wisconsin.”
The d-party nominee is Joe Biden. The “powers that be” obviously still are.
In the NY City primary, Bowman leads 16-term Con. Engels by 8-10% in late polling. That’s what an upset of " The Old " PTB would look like. The center-right and pro-Netanyahu Caucus of Congress critters, like Engels, are sometimes getting their deserved comeuppance in unusual spaces and places. Urban centers are changing demographically, and major domestic politics ( priorities ) may end this reflexsive genuflection to the hardline Zionists in the Democratic Party.
I expect the hardliner faction represented by Con. Engels, to slowly turn into a Sen.Toomey & Gov. DeWine-type of Republican.
In fact, a Libertarian-Republican Party may emerge from all this new political shakeout coming out of the DNC’s treatment of Sanders’ supporters in the 2016 & 2020 primaries.
BTW- Nothing turns a supposed liberal into a right-wing libertarian faster than winning the lottery or inheriting millions of dollars, either.
