About time. We wonder why recidivism rates are so high when society makes it almost impossible for convict to get work, a loan or housing.

Imagine that, an ex-convict with a well-paying job that gives one dignity and leaves one probably too tired to want to get into too much trouble. Sounds like a plan to me. The catch? The system. The bureaucracy. The prejudice. The profit motive of the prison-industrial complex. Etc. We need Progress in this nation. Best of luck to you brave souls on the fire lines–all of you in orange and yellow!

We could establish learning, such as mini community college while incarcerated. Goof-offs are eliminated from the classes.
Yes, prepare people for success in the outside world. But we can’t even fund road, bridge, and other projects. That’s the union bosses money to steal, trump won’t bother with that.

They do have educational opportunities in the prison system. Still a bit stigmatizing to have a diploma from a prison based system.
