California Democrats Under Fire for Siding With Telecom Lobbyists Against Net Neutrality Bill

Jessica Corbett, staff writer

As state lawmakers in California kick off debates on legislation that would establish the strongest net neutrality protections in the nation following a federal rollback by the Republican-controlled FCC in December, advocates are warning that Democratic legislators appear to be caving to telecommunications industry lobbyists' efforts to dramatically weaken the bill.

And the party wonders why no one wants to vote for them.

In other words, California Democrats under fire for being modern Democrats. Typically pathetic.

Several months ago I kept hearing the senate is one vote short of reinstating net neutrality. Are we still in the same boat?

#5

California as progressive leader is highly overrated.

#6

Democratic “leaders” aren’t “caving” … they, as they most often do, are COLLABORATING as required by their big-time funders.

It is the mass of Democratic voters who continuing to support what they still consider “their” party, who are the ones who have been caving … for decades.

At what point will the more astute among them realize that there IS no way out of that groups that still considers respecting the People of this nation, their needs and the institution of democracy.

Would love to see some real reporting on the workings in Sacramento . Local broadcast news next to never report on the happenings in the capitol of Calif------from city hall to state capitols filled with all kinds of corruption. Print covers some of this stuff but they have been neutered .
