If you folks haven’t figured it out, it should all be clear now. Many states have passed mail in voting laws in the last few years. They are a clear and present danger to the conservative power structure, and must and will be stopped. How, you ask? Easily. You just simply make sure that there is no one there to pick up or deliver your mail-in vote.
The GOP now sees the USPS as an enemy that needs vanquished. And it will be.

Is this in fact a warning or will trump see it as advice as to how to win the next election?

“A shutdown of USPS would be catastrophic for democracy,” Hasen continued.

Not in my opinion because when was Amerika ever a democracy? I predicted over a year ago that the many democratic, debating, candidates was nothing but a dog and pony show for the sheeple because “Biden had already been selected”.

The Republican Party needs to be destroyed before it is too late. Just like the Nazi, Party destroyed Germany, they are a Fascist Party that will destroy us all unless they are just like the Whig Party was… eliminated as an legitimate party.

Do not fret —we have Joe Biden hosting a “town hall event” today from 3-4 eastern time. That should make us feel better!
Or should I say his script writers/teleprompters are hosting a town hall?
(does anyone know who the key figures are that are calling the shots in Biden’s campaign?)

Now, more than ever, is the time we need a cogent, honest, inspirational leader whose present and prior actions line up consistently behind truth and the fight for democracy.

Instead we have Joe Biden and all dems falling in line behind him. Setting aside his unsavory history— this is a man who can’t even string together coherent sentences let alone take on authoritarianism.

As an aside— a fun little fantasy (a la Nader’s: Only the Super-Rich Can Save Us!)
Jeff Bezos could gift the USPS 10 billion (“the amount The version of the CARES Act Trump signed into law on March 27 ultimately contained a $10 billion loan for USPS”) throw in another 50 billion for good measure and still have 100 billion net worth remaining*

*Bezos estimated net worth was $160,899,304,840.03 as of 3:54 pm January 28, 2020 EST

Bloody hell! I just switched to absentee ballot by mail because my polling place had been moved from a school(major security risk)to a fundamentalist church that’s over two miles away. I can no longer drive, I can walk it, but you have one small door to use in order to vote. The inmates have taken over the asylum. Nothing for the Common Good; everything privatized for use of the Chosen Ones graced by god with wealth and privilege.
Way past time to change this two-headed conversation to a different subject. Like Green Party and Democratic Socialists. We came close, back in the 30’s.
Everything Trump Touches Dies…

And temporary morgues outside hospitals wasn’t a big enough clue?

The mail service isn’t going away. It may change it’s shape or size, or who runs it, but it can’t be forsaken, only become way more expensive to use. Like most major countries that pay more for shipping or sending.
Whatever things that are not falling in place for trump, falling in his lap like conditions surrounding the virus, are being connived to help his chances in the election.
Somebody needs a wrap along side of their head to enforce some form of reasoned behaviors.

“The mountains and the canyons started to tremble shake,
as the children of the sun began to awake.
Seems that the wrath of the Gods, got a punch on the nose, and it started to flow.” L Z

Or, when anthrax letters terrorized the nation.

“The letter sent to NBC News anchor Tom Brokaw, which contained anthrax . The letter sent to Tom Daschle, which contained anthrax . A second bunch of letters had been mailed on October 9.”

Thankfully, all dems damns are NOT falling in line behind the feckless, hapless, senile Joe Biden.   The Convention – probably a giant teleconference – is still a few months away, and there is PLENTY of time to replace Bye-Done with one of the Governors who has actually shown (GASP!!!) real Leadership during the present crisis.   Of course if they continue to try to stick us with Biden – or some other korporate stooge – they’ll just be handing re-election to Tweetle-Dump without a fight.

Just who are they? Bernie endorsing one of the most corrupt, of Wall Street, stooges for POTUS was the last straw for me…SHAME ON YOU BERNIE!

Buy stamps. It is helping the post office. Just fucking buy them.

You’re throwing in the towel in the first inning.

I support the post office, and I support national paper ballots by mail, but the idea that this would make the election legitimate is laughable.

SFAIK there are MANY members of the DamnocRatic Party (I’m not one), and most of them are NOT members of the utterly corrupt party “leadership” (DNC, DCCC, DSCC, MSNBC, etc.).  I too am VERY disappointed at Bernie’s early capitulation, as it seemed by staying in 'til the convention he would have had more influence on the platform (that they wouldn’t honor anyway, but at least pretending to throw a few crumbs at us main-streeters might have helped get some more people to come out to vote against Frump).  The ONLY bright spot right now is that a few 'Poop-Licken governors seem determined to kill off their Maga-Moron constituents.  Unfortunately, they’ll take a lot of innocents with them.

just s tRump has screwed up the coronavirus response, the dems have screwed up and stimulus packages, which they either did not read or did not care to read. They should have made him veto the bill; with the huge majorities it passed by, in both houses, it seems it would be easy to override the veto. Of Course Ms. AOC was right, there should have been no linkage between help for the people and assistance to business and finance. Two or more separate bills.

Dude, the first inning was 1981. This is the bottom of the 8th, and we’re down 10 to 1. But hey, we still have a deep bench, right? Joe! Get your glove and get out there.
Oh boy.,

I’d say it’s the seventh inning and we’re down by 3 runs and they’ve got a pitcher with an 8.54 ERA. Unfortunately our leading hitter just left the game and his replacement is on the I-95.

Can Trump be impeached again, this time for not following the parts of the Constitution that establish the United States Postal Service?

Should there also be another charge listed, increasing civilian deaths by his poor handling of COVID-10?

There is precedent for not counting military deaths for impeachment charges.
