Center for Food Safety Sues Department of Agriculture for Withholding Genetically Engineered Crop Records

WASHINGTON - Center for Food Safety (CFS) today filed a lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), alleging that APHIS has violated FOIA by routinely failing to respond to requests for records related to genetically engineered (GE) crops, unlawfully delaying its responses, and withholding public disclosure of information. APHIS has failed to provide a timely final response to at least 29 of CFS’s FOIA requests or appeals.

Thank you CFS. They make it that we have no choice but say it is safe yet we aren't sure if it is safe at all. Thank you for seeking proof of those claims and/or the proof necessary to show that they aren't safe. Thank you - thank you - thank you!

We all remember how we were told that genetically engineered plants wouldn't hurt the environment and because of that claim they got approval from congress. Well it sure seems that somebody was lying and it is about time we learned the truth and most likely will learn that they knew it would escape into the environment way back in the beginning when they said it wouldn't.
