Climate Change Has Already Altered Nearly Every Ecosystem on Earth

Nadia Prupis, staff writer

Climate change is already affecting life on Earth, despite a global temperature increase of just 1°C, according to a new study published in the journal Science on Friday.

Nearly every ecosystem on the planet is being altered, and plants and animals are being so affected that scientists may soon be forced to intervene to create "human-assisted evolution," the study, titled The Broad Footprint of Climate Change from Genes to Biomes to People, found.

And the fools in 'Murka just fell for and elected an anti-science, grifter conman who would like to abolish the EPA, pull the US out of the Paris Climate talks and who thinks that global warming is a hoax created by the Chinese. Even if this walking clusterfuck and the appalling bunch of scum he intends to appoint or nominate last just one term they will do enormous damage to whatever progress we have made in the last 80 years.
Van Jones was right when he called at least part of this horrendous development "whitelash". What a pain it must have been for so many of these poor oppressed white folks to put up with all that liberalism over the last several decades. Progress in this country has often seemed like the U.S. had to be dragged kicking and screaming into change and then we watched as certain factions tried to negate that progress. Just like Reconstruction after the Civil War was fought tooth and nail and eventually it was largely negated. Now we are hearing reports that Trump's hatchet men (and women) are planning deep changes in the elimination of things like Obamacare and the privatization of programs like Medicare. This is a tragic time for most Americans and the carnage will really start in just two months. I fear for this country and parts of the world where we have "interests".

Oh that's just great. Franken-Animals loose in the Biosphere?

What could go wrong?

MonSatan's gene-splicing stock just went up. Since their bt corn gene-spliced baterium swaps genes with everything next to it, nothing's going to be safe to eat pretty soon if this mad science is turned loose in animals.

What we SHOULD be focusing on is the likelihood--no HIGH PROBABILITY--that OUR OWN species is going "down the tubes"!

"Understanding the extent to which these goods and services have been impacted allows humans to plan and adapt to changing ecosystem conditions," he said. What kind of statement is this for a scientist to make? Why must ecologists employ the language of capitalism when describing ecosystem processess? There is no such thing as "goods and services" in nature. Nature does not serve man! No wonder a capitalist like Trump was elected president.
