Coalition Decries Keeping Thousands of US Troops in Afghanistan as a “Tragic, Futile Flip Flop”

Win Without War

WASHINGTON - The Win Without War coalition criticized President Obama’s decision to reverse course and keep thousands of US troops in Afghanistan, calling the decision a “tragic and futile flip-flop.”

“Today’s announcement by the President is a tragic and futile flip-flop that will ensure that America’s longest war will drag on for years to come,” said Win Without War’s Advocacy Director, Stephen Miles, following today’s announcement that President Obama will keep 5,500 U.S. troops in Afghanistan through 2017.

Many people voted for President Obama in 2008 because they thought he was most likely to END these wars: 7 YEARS LATER, he has only CONTINUED (& EXPANDED) these wars. This decision to STAY in Afghanistan ... Iraq... attacking Libya (thanks, Hillary!) making Libya an echo of IRAQ resulting in civil war, more terrorists, civilian misery...expanding the "war on terrorism" to YEMEN & SOMALIA & SYRIA. This decision presents a CRUCIAL QUESTION we MUST ask of ALL 2016 candidates: Will they END or CONTINUE this MADNESS of PERPETUAL WAR?
