Congressional Progressive Caucus Co-Chair Adds Voice to Chorus Questioning Legality of Drone Assassination Program

Andrea Germanos, staff writer

Sparked by an exposé on the Obama administration's drone war, co-chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.) has echoed human rights groups and called into question the legality of the killing program.

Based on documents leaked to The Intercept by an anonymous intelligence source, The Drone Papers offers an unprecedented look at the global killing program.

Let's spend a few million bucks on extended televised congressional hearings into the drone assassination program.

The Obama administrations & Pentagon's assassination "program" is right out of the Zionist/Israeli terrorist playbook. Their subversion of our nation's 'leaders" and Congress to notions/actions in war are at odds with any/all common norms of decency, military honor, and political advantage - are we the war-criminal Israeli extremists? - apparently yes.

The "enemy" must be created and maintained/grown, reviled by a subservient media, keeping for-profit wars and conflicts cooking, how better than to kill family members and tribal leaders, AKA "militants" with drones to grow a steady stream of justified hatred for America?

Israeli extremists/settlers use conflict to mask/hide its objective of total possession of all of historic Palestine in their twisted racist mythology and hatred. The US MICC makes billions/trillions in profits and yes-mens (and womens) military careers and promotions are assured - military funding steals the future from our civilian nations needs - a recipe for the destruction of any nation that has lost its moral compass! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Military%E2%80%93industrial_complex

American military leaders of good conscience and moral compass have been cashiered out of the services to shut them up - any that did not agree with the fascist/racist for-profit war policy were silenced and chickenshit sycophants promoted to their places.
An American military man of actual honor was Marine Major general Smedley Butler, twice reciepient of the Cong. Medal of Honor, who wrote "War Is a Racket", his wisdom and clear vision should be required reading for all.

Wisdom eludes poor Obama, but it's hard to feel sorry for him.

Dr. ML King offered the truth in this pearl of wisdom that he frequently stated in 1967: "The bombs that fall in Vietnam explode at home. They destroy the hopes and possibilities for a decent America."

Obama has read that advice and rejected it.

Obama could stop the drone bombings, just he can stop the Afghan war. At least on these pages we agree with Dr. King," A time comes when silence is betrayal." Making people suffer barbaric violence and indiscriminate drone bombing destruction is not my goal.

The congressional progressive caucus should seriously consider leaving the democratic party and starting something new if Bernie is shoved aside by the war hawks.

#7

Four American citizens got killed in Benghazi, who should not have been in Libya, and were probably up to no good, but millions of taxpayer $ spent on a partisan witch hunt. 3000 innocent American citizens were murdered on 9/11 and no congressional hearings, no follow-up or in depth analysis of the US governments conspiracy theory, which amounts to a fairy tale which only the most sophomoric and politically naive can believe.

The drone murders of more innocent people might not have happened if Obama knew that Bush and Cheney were indicted for war crimes, but since they have not been indicted for treason and are definite war criminals Obama knows he has nothing to worry about for also being a war criminal.

Gee, and it only took how many years to decide to take this stand against indiscriminate human slaughter? And what the hell is a "Congressional Progressive Caucus?" There is nothing even resembling a progressive or progressive politics in Congress. For that matter, it has pretty well been rooted out of the media marketed to liberals as well. Too bad.

Elections usually come down to economic conditions, while war is almost always something that happens far away while we go about our daily lives.

How do you know where "Bernie" would stand? He certainly did change his "heart-felt convictions" on socioeconomic policies, dumping the poor to stand with campaign donors. Pragmatic. No matter, nothing will change as long as there is no way for the "masses" remain so profoundly divided. Right now, we're just sitting back to watch the rich do to the middle class what the middle class already did to the poor.

Israel has had and used drones probably before the USA

#13

On MLK day they never talk about this aspect about Dr. King.

#14

Awesome, thank you! Their ultimate goal is to silence those who resist the Israeli lead Zionist tyrants here in the USA. There are many examples of their subversive anti American activities the latest being the infiltration into the colleges and Universities student body across USA to try to kill off the anti apartheid BDS movement in US higher learning campuses. Seems they are playing by the Nazi rules of conduct and placing blame for Nazi atrocities against Jews on the Mufti of Jerusalem who met with Hitter back in early 1940's. Such godamned devious sadistic bastards.

So, should we pull the covers up to our faces and go back to sleep?

#16

Yes like on 911, based on UA and AA records those planes were missing for a few months to be outfitted with remote control electro-mechanical modifications prior to use on WTC. Notice how again Israel, Saudi Arabia and the United States are cooperating in support of their army of assassins the ISIS?

True Israel is the number 2 drone maker globally 2nd only to the big satin USA..

#19

Another MLK quote that has had MSM censorship: " My country is the greatest purveyor of violence in the world". That was during the Vietnam war, but today he might say it this way: America is the greatest purveyor of terrorism in the world, or something similar.

" Obama could stop the drone bombings just as he could stop the Afghan war."

True, but we all know why he doesn't; because Obama has been selected and handpicked by his superiors and Obama would rather murder untold numbers of innocent men, women, and children than not follow his war crime orders. In other words, he is a coward that does not dare to follow his war crime orders! Because Obama, like so many of his predecessors, knows he is saving his own skin by being a war criminal.
