“This delisting decision is what happens when bad science drives bad policy.”
Bad science? Or misrepresentation, misinterpretation, data manipulation and/or denial? Science is science, neither good nor bad. It just is.
It’s not bad science if you’re in the Cattlemen’s Club for Subsidized Cow Growth on Federal & State Public Lands.
FYI- Here’s one way in which wolves are killed in Idaho, possibly elsewhere in the lower 48:
Wolf dens which contain the pack’s pups are located using paid ( public ) trackers. Escape holes or other openings near the den are scoped out and identified, as well. ATVs are then driven up to the den openings by the taxpayer’s hired hunters/trackers.The openings are covered by tarps, etc. And the ATV’s engine exhaust pipe is then put into a tube which is placed down into the den’s opening. The ATV’s engine is run long enough to ensure any living thing in the den is dead from being gassed. The pups and alpha female, etc. are then dug up and skinned for their winter coats… You don’t have to worry about being bitten, either. Well, you get the general idea, correct? It’s beneath disgusting and … this was told to me ( over X-mas ) by someone who lives in the mountains where this is being done.
That is your tax $ at work, folks. It’s taking place on your public lands right now.
Wolves are not the problem, cows and ranchers are, imo.
Quadruped or biped? Far more of the latter require removal.
I stand by the assertion that “science” simply is…at least to the point where knowledge falls short. Perhaps the sentence should read, “This delisting decision is what happens when bad people drive bad policy.”
