Only 150 million? That seems like an awfully low estimate. And let’s not forget: It is not the pandemic that is “pushing” so many people into poverty. Governments are pushing so many people into poverty… governments manipulated by Big Capital… governments converted into streamlined, highly efficient mechanisms for preying on the global public – the very same public that is being impoverished… governments converted into dispossession machines.
Wars and climate heating too:
But but The Economist magazine and champions of Capitalism and “The Free Market” insist that Capitalism and endless growth ends poverty!
Am I the only one who questions the criteria for extreme poverty - using a dollar number ?
It seems foolish at best - and at worst - a way to impose finance on everyone - finance which has been utterly disastrous.
“Push 150 million into extreme poverty by 2021” which is less than three months away.

Setting aside the effect of Covid, the chart seems to show a considerable reduction in global poverty from over 35% in 1990 to less than 10% in 2020. But is this in adjusted for inflation dollars? Anyway, $1.90 is not much money. Even Fearless Fosdick earned more than that.
Wages are much much lower in other countries. That’s why the neoliberals want to globalize work, even work thats performed here in the US.
They promised to do that in the 1990s
(see highlighted text)
Actually, its a big thing, the idea being to remake the world economically.

They fully intend to import tens of millions of high skill workers (and then work their way downward, is the plan)
Its thought that Biden will restore TISA to be our top trade priority. Right now its “in the refrigerator” in trade lingo.
