Layoffs are another result of this government’s “layup” in refusing to take care of the population.

Only deeply disturbing if you are not a Trump Republican…sad.

An increase in UI benefits, UBI and healthcare for the duration of the pandemic should have been non-negotiable conditions of the Democratic party in the original Cares Act. Now, due to their incompetence and corruption, we find ourselves on the brink of the greatest economic precipice since the Great Depression. The desire of the criminal GOP to give their crooked buddies in industry liability protection affords further opportunity for Democrats to exact meaningful concessions for Americans. But given their track record over the past decades and the great lengths they go to to meet Republicans half way in order to stick it to ordinary citizens, I am not optimistic.

“Cruelty” perhaps best describes this “administration” and its supporters.

Not to victim blame here, but I feel compelled to ask, what did the Third Way democrats think was going to happen as they have not only permitted, but sometimes cheered on, the republicans attempt to destroy the welfare and administrative state? And of course, their parallel attempts to privatize and deregulate all government offices?
The very foundations of the US government have been worn down to the point of collapse. All that was needed now to finish the job was a crisis, a national tribulation, and that foundation would crumble.
There is no better example of this deterioration than this past weeks actions of our congress and White House. They have all the money in the world for our precious military, yet can’t find a fraction of that to help out the unemployed, the sick, or the soon to be bankrupt and homeless. They can’t even seem to organize a vote for it, and if then by some miracle they actually passed a rudimentary aid plan, the government is no longer capable of organizing or distributing that aid.
We are literally doing what Kruschev once said we would. We are collapsing from within. Republicans are cheering it on, democrats don’t seem to care, and the populace no longer believes that the government can do anything right. Reagan’s dream has come true.

Considering what Democrats have (or better, have NOT) fought for during the Trump administration (and for years before), Dems do not escape responsibility for the Duopoly’s INACTION over plans to improve the lives of average working Americans’ lives.
BOTH oligarchic “parties” serve almost exclusively elements of Big $$: banks, Big Pharma, arms, etc., and WE get few, if any, benefits of our tax base.

This is a SCORCHED EARTH policy.

The wealthy will continue to reap the benefits with the onset of foreclosures.

The battle for 2022/2024 is in full swing.

Amen.

It is hypocritical to talk about this economic disaster without also mentioning that Biden, Pelosi, etc. show no signs of wanting to fix it.

Yes, the Democrats deserted most Americans with the Bill Clinton “Third Way” (neoliberalism) borrowed from Ronnie Reagan & Newt Gingrich, continuing under Bush II, Obama, Trump, and most of the members of both corporate parties.

That’s why progressives such as The Squad have no real home in the Democrat Party anymore.

The People’s Party must unite with the Green Party and the Democratic Socialists of America and the Working Families Party to provide a true alternative to the Corporate Duopoly which doesn’t give a damn about the 90% of Americans.

Kruschev was correct. But not from the communist, party; FROM THE REPUBLICAN AND DEMOCRATIC PARTIES.

Big B –

You are stressing what we need to pay attention to –

That the FOUNDATIONS of our US government have been changed as we were moved
from the democracy track to the Elite/fascist track –

As the NEW DEAL protections have largely been destroyed, the most dire message is that
if we don’t end Capitalism our planet will die –

and in between there will be a lot of dying off of humanity – and it will be carried out because
of the desire of the few for absolute control over the rest of us, for their wealth and greed.

The FOUNDATIONS of the NEW DEAL kept us all safe from their methods and tools –

Think of how many older people are in the job market today – often clerking in our grocery
stores – because the very intention of Social Security, to provide security and retirement
at 65 for our older citizens was destroyed by RE-ENGINEERING the Social Security
program illegally so that no one since the 1970’s has been secure enough financially to
actually retire since then.

Elites then used right wing propaganda to run another false/positive message that Seniors
weren’t automatically losing their faculties and could work on – even part time if necessary –
and not have to give up their jobs. THAT is what began the next step where our children then
could not find jobs. When Seniors were eventually pushed out of their jobs and still couldn’t
afford to retire, they began to take on the lower paying jobs our society offered.

What happened to health care which most reputable business owners used to provide –
the greed of the health care industry so surpassed what what businesses could afford that
they began to ask employees to share in the costs. As more and more of the burden began to
be pushed onto workers, finally businesses just dropped health benefits.

Tracking all of this destruction is helpful in understanding how the rug has been pulled out
from underneath the population – to the point now where Trump almost rejoices in the damage
that the VIRUS is doing to the nation – is he getting paid by the body count?

All of NEW DEAL must be restored – and that is what we must demand – and that includes
all of the financial regulations on Elites/Wall Street.

And notice that we are at our most vulnerable when DP leaders reach the White House.
It was Clinton who overturned 70 years of WELFARE GUARANTEES – and I think he was
also responsible for overturning 70 years FULL Unemployment benefits – THAT also set
corporations free to fire as many people as they wish because they no longer had to PAY
accordingly into the unemployment fund for the jobs they eliminated.

We have Bernie Sanders – other nations have had Evo Morales – we have to make the world
safe for the opposing forces – as the people did for Gandhi, for instance. And as didn’t happen
for Lincoln and JFK – MLK, Jr.

We now have to decide whether we are going to follow their example and fight to for the
hungry, fight for the children – everyone’s child – fight for sanity and common sense in the
world – or whether we will give up and let Elites and Trump have their way –

There are Trump supporters who will help move the nation further into fascism if we don’t
find the key to waking them up – it’s a responsibility of all of us to do just that.

It is NOT going too far to make clear to all Americans that those who have done this damage
to our nation are the same families/descendants here and internationally who recruited Hitler
and Nazis to rule the world for them. And who, like Trump, will never be defeated because
they will destroy everything before they leave –

And now we hear through the Potomac grapevine that Ol’ Joe Biden is getting " cold feet " about using Executive Orders to overcome Republican recalcitrance involving his Senate negotiations.
We have a national situation developing where about 80% of the House and Senate Democrats will have to run in 2022 on Ol’ Joe’s broken words and broken promises.
Like Clinton, Biden appears much more at home (comfortable ) negotiating with a Republican Congress than a Democratic one.
The Biden Administration appears ready to wave the various white flags to Republican obstruction even though he received almost 82 million votes just a month ago. What kind of mandate do the Democrats need, anyway?
As James Carville points out, " 18% of the U.S. population elects 52 Senators " in this thoroughly corrupted country. So, about 20% of smaller or more rural states get to make life and death decisions for. the other 80%? And, the Biden Adm. doesn’t have a plan to overcome this slow rollin’ genocidal abomination?
Who cares how " diverse " this new Biden Adm. looks if the whole bunch of them are afraid of their own shadows. Or worse, are willing to surrender their historic vote advantage before engaging the likes of Mitch, Lindsay & Ted Cruz.
Buyers’ remorse is a real thing and not good, Bidenistas.

Its easy to prove that this situation is not what we’re repeately told it is by stepping away from the media barrage and reading the language of international trade. There we’ll find that under the system we have allegedly embraced (but virtually nobody even knows this system has been substituted for the one we still think we have) government helping (subsidizing) people is a theft from corporations of their entitled profits. In this real world, not the made for TV world we’re being deceived into thinking is real, America is in agreement about the most outrageous things that virtually none of us would ever agree with. Coincidentally, they all are almost guaranteed to become permanent and all make the very rich richer and the majority of people in our country much poorer. And guess who its going to be blamed on when it finally comes out.

What I am saying is we’re being taken to the cleaners. We’re married to the Mob. We urgently need to get a divorce, before they literally bankrupt us with their generosity, which all comes out of our inheritance, not just our countries, all the people in the world are getting taken by crooks - putting the tab in our name. Its an identity theft of the worst kind.

We’re all operating under the assumption that we could just vote our way out, and that its a dysfunctional government, but its not, its a setup. An inside job. The system is rigged.

This is shown by the sheer volume of the major things they have hidden, while obviously cooperating to do it.

How can people fall for it?

Oh, it’s not just through the grapevine, the link below has audio of Biden himself denying he can accomplish anything.

Get ready all of you “Blue no matter who” voters, for a major gop takeover in 2022 and 2024, with a Tom Cotton or Ted Cruz 2024 President. Neither is the sharpest tool in the shed, but both are smarter than dumb as a rock Trump.

Before going off on the democratic congress critters we need to watch a couple of episodes of pawn Stars.
Just because you think you have something great to sell doesn’t mean those with the power to accept or deny are going to give you what you want or demand.
Negotiations from the left are largely acceptable asks, but Bitch McConnell has the last word.

Daniel Defoe called it the “Great Visitation” in his Journal of the Plague Year (Yersinia pestis, London, 1665-66). A memorable phrase, like a dark-winged angel casting a shadow over London. Or like the astonishing enthusiasm of ordinary US Americans, all over the country, for death-cult festivities at exactly the wrong moment, set to slingshot our Covid death-rate out to mass-grave proportions. This is not a drill: Every day another second is dropped from the interval between USA deaths (going by the 7-day average). Someone dies of Covid, somewhere in USA, every 38 seconds, at this writing.

Biden’s so-called “win” was not because many voters were “for” him, but rather “against Trump,” all thanks to the efforts of The Squad, Abrams, et al., who have been castigated and kneecapped since winning a House majority in the 2018 Midterms.
