Since we are talking about vision what is it actually going to look like? Many, I think, would agree that it cannot look like what we have. This still needs to be articulated in actual imagery and detail as if it is already an accomplished fact. I suggest we find a way soon to come together virtually because of the pandemic to share what we see as the actual details on how we want to organize ourselves.

Why not consider walking away from the status quo as in non cooperation and imagine the details of livable communities across not only US America but across the world?

If you have not yet read Small Is Beautiful this would be a good time and keep in mind that we also need a fossil fuel free world if we are going to have a fighting chance. Governments, political parties, are all too invested in the status quo.

My brother works for Raytheon. I love my brother, but I think my Thanksgiving message today shall be why the fuck can’t Raytheon build high-speed electric trains instead of missiles? Build them here. Build them for our “enemies” and then they won’t be our enemies any longer, for fuck’s sake. As long as the Fed can keep printing money this would work!

Remember back in the 50’s when we were young impressionable tots, and the indoctrination began with playing with little green army men and on the TV we were fed a steady diet of “Cowboys and Indians,” and “Combat, the Rifleman,” and on an on.

Well, herein lies the problem.

Generations were similarly raised.

We must make better choices with our children.

I am thankful today that the would-be King h a strong been branded a “loser” for not only his “subjects” who have worshipped him, but for the entire world to see.

"Happy Thanksgiving To Everyone."

Hey old man, speak for yourself. Conceived during Eisenhower, born during Kennedy.

Have a great Thanksgiving!

In '56 Mom and Dad dragged me and my older brother to an Eisenhower reelection rally. Just remember being surrounded by a bunch of towering adults cheering under bright lights.

Like Jimi Hendrix and Bruce Lee my birthday is tomorrow.

Wish those guys were still around to celebrate with.

Eisenhower’s 1956 Platform:

  1. Provide federal assistance to low-income communities;

  2. Protect Social Security;

  3. Provide asylum for refugees;

  4. Extend minimum wage;

  5. Improve unemployment benefit system so it covers more people;

  6. Strengthen labor laws so workers can more easily join a union;

  7. Assure equal pay for equal work regardless of sex.

Robert Koehler’s pieces are always a welcome sight, but this is almost too unrealistic.

Mr. Koehler describes the realistic future of our politics of “militarized unity,” then pivots to the visionary aspirations of writer George Monbiot, a Guardian columnist and common dreamer, with his four social movements of healing our country and planet, and more.

Sure, Robert, why not go with Monbiot? “We choose to do this. Not because it is easy, but because it is hard.” (JFK) Now comes the hard part.

Another useful titbit from history for you, Wiseowl

Socialism is a scareword they have hurled at every advance the people have made in the last 20 years.

Socialism is what they called public power.
Socialism is what they called social security.
Socialism is what they called farm price supports.
Socialism is what they called bank deposit insurance.
Socialism is what they called the growth of free and independent labor organizations.

Socialism is their name for almost anything that helps all the people. —Harry S. Truman, speech, Oct. 10 1952

at the root of every aspect of modern American policy is capitalism–until we address this monster we will never achieve anything – since it is the system that will exploit any and all resources --regardless of the consequences of that exploitation—as long as there is profit in the exploitation—to gain control they have legalized bribery and then purchased our politicians and captured our government–it all has to go if we are to even stand a chance at saving ourselves from the destruction of our world for those profits–do I think this is likely??? of course not–which is why I welcome people to the 6th Great Extinction–now happening in your neighborhood for the profits of the capitalists
