Well, my other option for that matter is to maybe vote for a Green Party candidate if they get on my ballot as an independent (we lost party status last year for not getting enough votes for Governor), as long as it’s not some wacko like Jesse Ventura (rumored to be considering a run as a Green). What I’m trying to do is get a movement going to show just how PO’d progressives are about the way we have been treated, and having a lot of votes show up as one thing on a lot of results would send a clear message.

This is not surprising nor unexpected. The Democratic Party, as publicly stated in court after the 2016 election, is a private corporation not accountable nor representative of the electorate or any of its members. They exist only to serve whomever writes the largest checks. Bernie is a direct threat to their entire system, much more so than the golden hair reality television host currently sitting in the oval office and as such stopping Bernie is priority #1.
Bernie is doing all he can to challenge this corruption and make this a much more democratic system. He believes in democracy and can be successful but only if we are willing to act and wholeheartedly support him. In my opinion this is the most important election in my lifetime as I equate Bernie with Robert Kennedy. Money is aligned against us. The existing power structure is aligned against us, but we have numbers and that is what is feared most of all. Get excited but most importantly do not give up and continue to call out the lying and cheating of the DNC and their elitist candidates as they are a much greater threat to democracy than even Trump or any of their fabricated enemies.

The problem is Bernie is not a Democrat, he might caucus with them but is not a dues paying member of the DNC. That is the crux of it, many party people consider him an outsider(besides some of the newer members of the party AOC, Omar etc.) The DNC is still controlled by an older power group who still believe in the old power structures.

If Sanders (for whom I will vote in the PA primary and in November {as a write in if he is not the Democrats’ candidate}) continues with his outbursts on billionaires I doubt that he will get many votes— and will send many to Trump.
Except that it won’t matter how popular Bernie is. Now there’s talk about letting superdelegates vote in the first round. If Bernie shows up at the convention with enough delegates to win the first round outright, I’ll bet the let the superdelegates vote to keep Bernie from winning.

This was my opinion in 2016 and it is even a stonger opinion now: If/when they cheat him again, I believe that the time is right for him to take his followers and either “Go Green” or start a “Peoples’ Party”.
Problems:
Option #1 would require an invitation such as the one Jill Stein gave him in 2016.
Option #2 would require–I am assuming-- a WHOLE LOT of red tape and set-up requirements.
His following has grown much larger than the last time and, again, in my opinion, he would have a real chance of winning this time, away from the two (one?) party corrupt system. Should he not win, he would be creating a REAL OPTION for “We the People” going forward.

There was a time when voting at all was not an option for women and blacks.
There is still time to try to get the right to cast a write-in vote if you live in one of the states that do not allow it for this election and possibly obtain that right by the next election cycle if it can’t be accomplished in this election cycle.
Voting is an act of free speech. Not allowing write-in voting denies citizens the right to express their free speech in the voting booth unless they have previously got enough other citizens to agree with the citizen’s free speech to get the candidate that citizen wants to vote for on the ballot.
The Constitution does not limit free speech of a citizen to speech that other people agree with.
And if there are no candidates on the ballot that a citizen finds suitable to hold office, they must be allowed to write in their own name or someone else to register their disapproval of the candidates on the ballot and to create and demonstrate demand for other choices in future elections, if that is how the citizen wants to exercise their free speech in the voting booth.
In order for the write-in bans to stand the states would have to demonstrate how allowing citizens to exercise their free speech with write-in votes would cause harm to anyone else’s rights.
They can’t.
But the ban clearly denies citizens that want to cast write-in votes their right to free speech in the place where it may be the most important- the voting booth.
One way to help get write-in voting in a state where it is not allowed would be to sign up at the One Demand website, which includes casting write-in votes if there are no suitable small donor candidates on the ballot.
This could help provide evidence that citizens in your state want to have the option to exercise their free speech by casting a write-in vote.
Even just 10% of citizens in your state signing up at One Demand or signing a petition that you want write-in votes (if you don’t also want small donor candidates) would make it difficult for the courts to rule against allowing write-in votes.

I hope you are both correct. The 3,000+ turnout at Sanders’ rally in Cedar Rapids last night gives us hope that maybe we have reached a tipping point. However, the network of power — let’s call them mafias-- the network of mafias that rule us will not give up easily. We all know that, so we must keep reminding ourselves that we must embed this struggle into our lives and lifestyle. We must learn how to fight, which includes how to resist, to push and advocate, to reach out and to show respect while disagreeing.

Their legal defense argument in the lawsuit over cheating Bernie before tells you all you need to know. They said that they are under no legal requirement to hold fair and honest primary elections. The only way Bernie can win is with such massive support that they would be affraid of wholesale defections from the party or worse, an actual uprising.

He subscribes to some conspiracy theories that even I think go too far, and I’m willing to say there have been and are real conspiracies, both governmental and corporate going on in the World today, as well as in the past. However, I don’t believe that the government blew up the World Trade Center (I think they may have deliberately ignored warning signs), or that an international Illuminati cabal runs World affairs, or that the CIA killed JFK or RFK, but I think it’s likely a group of affluent Southern racists may have paid to assassinate MLK. And I think it’s very possible that Sen. Paul Wellstone’s plane crash was no accident.

Splintering the party with cries of victimhood and “rigged” elections by the Bernie bros helped put Trump in office. First of all, the man is 78 freaking years old and has heart disease…but yeah…very realistic to believe he could do the incredibly difficult and stressful 16 hours a day job of a POTUS.
