Democrats, Too, Love Trump's Wars

Adam Johnson

American politicians on both sides of the aisle love war. On Monday, an In These Times survey found that 92 percent of U.S. Democratic and Independent senators did not mount meaningful opposition to Donald Trump’s April 13 air strikes against the Syrian government.

These so-called “liberals” in the Democratic party are anything but liberal when it comes to foreign policy and war. Schumer, Pelosi, et al, never bothered to ask Obama for notification or a note with his illegal wars. They supported the war machine, then, and they support the war machine, now. Schumer praised both of Trump’s missile strikes, calling them “presidential” and “appropriate”. Pelosi’s only comment on both was to remind Trump to ask, first, before the next missile strike. This is opposition?

When it comes to war, there is no opposition party. Waging war is the one thing Trump has learned that guarantees he’ll get support and even praise from both parties. The Democrats have trained him well.

And WHAT percentage of American Citizens (remember THEM??) were in favor of the attacks??

“Democracy” is a crazy joke in this nation… never giving the majority its way … unless that happens to correspond to the desires of the 0.1% … or the “majority” of senators.

There you go. Proof that we have to elect more Democrats, as Democrats are documented to be 8% less evil than Republicans, none of whom (100%) mounted any meaningful opposition to Trump.

This is all you need to know.

since President Trump announced that he intended to bomb Syria, the stock values of some of the country’s top weapons manufacturers have soared, adding a collective $10 billion in market capitalization values over the course of just one week. With Trump delivering on his promise this weekend, the rally on Wall Street continues.

Philip May, husband of the UK prime minister, works for a company that is the largest shareholder in arms manufacturer, BAE Systems, whose share price has soared since the recent airstrikes in Syria.

Where are the D-Party apologists to tell us that their brand is the party of peace?

How representative to include the image of chuck schumer in this piece; he has been a cheerleader and apologist (among others) for our wars of choice in the ME/NA in his role as agent for Israeli racism/extremism, Occupation and illegal colonization. Schumer represents the AIPAC Israeli subversion of American politics, Congress and foreign policy; a status that would at one time been treated as treasonous service to a foreign power! Now such overt acts build a party apparatus and “leadership” complicit to war, and the rule of big-money subversion of our ostensible republic.
