LAVROV: DOUMA CHEMICAL ATTACK STAGED BY FOREIGN SPECIAL SERVICES

Russia has indisputable data that the April 7 Douma chemical attack in Syria was staged by special services of a foreign country, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on April 13.

“The mission of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons [OPCW] has set off to Syria not so quickly and without abundant enthusiasm but under our and Syrian pressure. It is due to arrive in Damascus in the morning of April 14,” Lavrov said. “We expect the mission to go without any delay to Douma where Russian specialists who examined this place have not found any confirmations of the use of chemical weapons.”
Lavrov emphasized that Russi ahas “the irrefutable data that this [chemical attack] was staged.”

Corbyn is a voice of reason, and is being pilloried all over social media as an anti-Semite for telling some of the truth about Israel, with calls for his party to eject him, probably because he is being effective, and may well become the next PM of the UK. All outside parties need to get out of Syria. While Assad is a horrible, evil dictator who deserves to die for what he has done to his people, that assassination has to come from the Syrian people, and not from foreign agents. We’ve done enough damage around the World, carrying out such actions over the past century - especially in the Middle-East.

#8

well, Lavrov’s likely correct, but it’s not like he’s submitting any evidence either. Fortunately, it’s not up to Russia or Syria to disprove the charges. It’s up to the usual suspects to prove them. And they’re not doing that as of the moment.

#9

Can we just run Trump out of town on a rail, and hire Corbyn part time to run our country?

#10

Great idea! If Corbyn was prez in the US, May would have to stand down from taking directions from the US to make war on Syria. It would be a win-win for everybody on both sides of the pond.

General Madman Mattis said recently there was no proof President Assad used chemical weapons in Syria.

Here is a good rant by The Saker. As a secular person of course I have a few quibbles but, no matter, read it anyway. By the way, I had forgotten the word Prolefeed. I need to re-read my Orwell.

Obama? Did you mean Trump, our current president? He is the one threatening to go to war in Syria.

#14

Bernie has said we should avoid a perpetual war in Syria and Trump can’t unilaterally go to war without congressional approval. He wants to avoid war in Syria. Now we will have to wait on the evidence to decide whether or not it was staged. There should be chemical residue at the site to provide evidence.

#15

Now would be a good time to repeat it and call for “All Foreign Parties to leave Syria.”

#16

But I thought the attacks did not happen at all! Yesterday, the Russian government claimed to have found no evidence of a chemical attack at all. Today they say it happened but by “foreign special services”. Which is it?

Disclaimers:

  1. Stating the 95% probability fact that based on documented history, the Syrian military committed the chemical attack does not imply, in any way, support for US military intervention anywhere.

  2. Stating that Assad and his military thugs, since 2011 have accrued the worst record for crimes against humanity in the 21st century (yes - worse than the US in Iraq) does not imply, in any way support for US military intervention anywhere.

  3. Stating that Putin is a criminal capitalist gangster and enemy of popular self determination wherever they intervene does not imply “shilling for the Democrats”, not imply advocating a “new cold war”.

  4. Stating support for the Kurdish libertarian social revolution Rojava and the incredibly brave men and women YPG/YPJ defending this revolution as they resist all enemies, including Assad’s and Erdogan’s forces, does not imply, in any way support for US military intervention anywhere.

#17

True. But until someone figures out a way to make peace profitable…I see nothing changing. Peace profiteers instead of war profiteers?

#18

No, it is up to independent, non-governmental organizations to determine the perpetrator. But Syria is not allowing any such parties into Syria much less to the site of the attack. And “proof” is something generally restricted only to the world of mathematics. Preponderance of evidence is relied on in most scientific or social endeavors. At his point, inductive logic would imply a high likelihood that Syrian forces conducted the attack.

#19

No doubt in my mind, that Assad is a thug that would use chemical weapons on children; but let me ask: what could he gain by this latest chemical attack on his own innocent, people?

#20

No wonder why the ruling class is trying to get rid of this guy. Negotiations? Withdrawal? Peace? How dare he!!

If they are successful with their smear campaign over there against Corbyn, can we have him?
