Despite Widespread Opposition, 'Surveillance Bill in Disguise' Takes New Step Towards Passage

Andrea Germanos, staff writer

The U.S. Senate has moved forward the Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act (CISA)—legislation denounced by its many critics as "a surveillance bill in disguise."

With bipartisan support, CISA passed 83-14 in a procedural vote on Thursday.

The biggest threat to the criminal government that uses Al Qaeda extremist to topple the legitimate government of Syria. Is the free flow of information on the internet. Hillary Clinton said it herself. "We are losing the information war" My guess is that after Russia called there bluff on the US in joining them in fighting Islamic Extremist in Syria. And the US reply was a flat out no. It exposed that the emperor wears no cloths. Soon anybody on the internet that speaks the truth. Will be classified has a domestic terrorist. Things are in motion on many levels. Please read the attached article.

I've never doubted that this was going on already. My guess is that it will only prevent the companies from being sued by customers.

Glad to see Bernie Sanders and both Oregon Senators voted against this.

All I know is that my two so called democratic senators voted for this. If I wanted republican senators, I would vote for them! Seeing that I haven't voted for either Peters or Stab-u-now, I have to assume that the people of the state of Michigan haven't learned their lessons yet! So be it! They bought the BS about a new entertainment center in downtown Detroit while the city was in bankruptcy, even knowing that the citizens of Detroit and the citizens of Wayne and Oakland counties will get stuck with footing a good portion of the bill and the city of Detroit will get stuck with the costs of maintaining a new hockey arena, they still fell for it! All you have to do is go on TV or have one of the many Detroit news establishment say the almighty word "JOBS" and the citizens become zombie like creatures who will willingly let the powers that be shove a three foot piece of white hot rebar up their back sides without an utterance of pain until years latter, after it is too late to do anything about it! BTW, all of those thousands of promised jobs, they went to mostly out of towners who left when the project was completed, and what remains are a couple hundred minimum wage jobs as ticket takers food mall workers or parking lot attendants. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=01Kz6Rw99Kk watch the link! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ia-vdoaMx1M

Lawrence Britt studied fascist regimes - they are/were "Nazi Germany, Fascist Italy, Franco’s Spain, Salazar’s Portugal, Papadopoulos’s Greece, Pinochet’s Chile, and Suharto’s Indonesia. To be sure, they constitute a mixed bag of national identities, cultures, developmental levels, and history. But they all followed the fascist or protofascist model in obtaining, expanding, and maintaining power." The result of his studies is "The 14 defining Characteristics of fascism" that makes interesting (at least) reading.

The words of FDR from 1938 have proven extremely prescient - "Unhappy events abroad have retaught us two simple truths about the liberty of a democratic people.

The first truth is that the liberty of a democracy is not safe if the people tolerate the growth of private power to a point where it becomes stronger than their democratic state itself. That, in its essence, is Fascism—ownership of Government by an individual, by a group, or by any other controlling private power.

The second truth is that the liberty of a democracy is not safe if its business system does not provide employment and produce and distribute goods in such a way as to sustain an acceptable standard of living."
An aside on "acceptable standards of living" here - http://ireport.cnn.com/docs/DOC-884508 - any wonder this threat to Vulture Capitalism and financial usury had to be destroyed and its author vilified and assassinated?

The US government/regime employs these characteristics to greater or lesser degrees. The events of 911 were a catalyst that allowed the implementation of a broad range of actions and legislation that has brought us wars, surveilance, military expansion, decrease of protections under the law )suspension of habeas corpus), police state tactics, and funding/arming/supporting repressive regimes notably in the Middle East. The truth of Sept 11 has not, IMO and that of many experts in various fields, been told/exposed, but whitewashed.
