Detailing 'Fundamentally Inhuman' Global Economy, Report Shows Fortunes of World's Richest Soared by $2.5B Each Day in 2018

Jake Johnson, staff writer

With Wall Street titans, tech moguls, and other members of the global financial and political elite set to gather in Davos, Switzerland this week for the annual World Economic Forum, a report published late Sunday found that the planet's richest people saw their fortunes soar by $2.5 billion per day last year as the world's poorest lost wealth.

What’s another word for travesty?

The Reagan “Revolution” obliterated one term that was pervasive during my youth: OBSCENE WEALTH. Wealth porn jumps out of most every magazine and TV ad I have ever seen. It also seeps from too many of the 546 people who officially comprise the three branches of our federal government. A Real Revolution is needed. Jefferson’s tree of Liberty is in need of watering with the blood of tyrants, even if the tyranny is economic in character.

Define “own” as the habitat collapses?

The fires in Montecito should have taught the rich a lesson. Insurance companies are backing away from oil companies as the chaos grows worse.

This type of article continues the myth that IF ONLY the wealthy shared that would solve everything.

Meanwhile every city in the world is using pretty much the same resources. We’re using the same clothes, cars, computers, highways, stores, etc. and everyone wants more.

Meanwhile the population continues to grow at three additional people per second. So it’s not JUST billionaires who ignore the obvious. Breed and shop is not a viable politic. You can not vote in resources.

There are limits to growth. Habitat overshoot is a thing. Question heterosexism. Question natalism.

Billionaires will face rising seas like everyone else.

What will the Elite be doing in Davos? Same as always, making sure their wealth is protected and more is taken from us. Trump should stay home as he has nothing to offer. Why do we allow these billionaires to have the right to rule every aspect of our lives? Talk is they work on ways to make our Planet a better place. Doubt this is their main focus. Next year they will be richer… and We are not invited.

The caterer isn’t that good and the hotels are poorly staffed. So don’t envy them.

Focus on this.

I dream a world where man
No other man will scorn,
Where love will bless the earth
And peace its paths adorn
I dream a world where all
Will know sweet freedom’s way,
Where greed no longer saps the soul
Nor avarice blights our day.
A world I dream where black or white,
Whatever race you be,
Will share the bounties of the earth
And every man is free,
Where wretchedness will hang its head
And joy, like a pearl,
Attends the needs of all mankind-
Of such I dream, my world!
Langston Hughes

given the severe consequences of this level of resource deprivation for so many, I think it’s about time we start calling this what it is: mass murder on an unprecedented scale.

These bastards are beyond psychotic. They’re a mortal threat to the existence of the species.

Yes, yes, yes!

Meanwhile, billions of underpaid, exploited have-nots worship the rich and the system that got them that way.

As commented on an earlier article, this is one of the diseases that are killing the planet. There are many. So now we have the politicians gearing up for 2020. Let’s see who speaks truth to power. I am already hearing the term “middle class”, there is no such thing anymore. So those using that term are in Lalaland, buyer beware.

Then Lennon’s contribution:

Imagine there’s no heaven
It’s easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky

Imagine all the people
Living for today (ah ah ah)

Imagine there’s no countries
It isn’t hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion, too

Imagine all the people
Living life in peace

You may say that I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope someday you’ll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man

Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world

You may say that I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope someday you’ll join us
And the world will live as one

Yeas ago, I heard Rockefeller in an interview end with, “What we need to do is get rid of six billion people. They are using up our resources.”
*They are obviously working very hard on that project. Wars, famines, poisoned food and water, limited health care, more wars. Cruel government stamping on the face of the poor, and giving every stolen penny to the uberwealthy.
*And that’s just a start.
