Is Trump still ‘in the loop’? Is this letter a sign that Trump is no longer really in charge? One has to consider that despite Republican willful blindness that our military leaders see Trump for what he is.

What Trump isn’t, is someone qualified, either ethically or psychologically, to be a president.

Donnie will campaign claiming he brought peace to Iraq.

Leon Panetta, the Dem former Secy of Defense, just called the prospect of a withdrawl from Iraq a threat to national security on CNN. Esper says the US has no intention to leave Iraq. “Repositioning”.

Who needs boots on the ground when they can do everything by drone?

So the 3 thousand he is sending is to control the oil?

THIS Iraq war may just have ended. However, it will soon be replaced by the new and improved Iraq war, 3.0!
And the meat grinder just keeps churning…

Trump in order to distract from his impeachment and upcoming trial in the Senate has literally brought the world to the brink of a full scale war (and possibly one that could broaden into a world war). It is really disturbing that our government is becoming more and more frayed and confused and even incoherent as today’s news show. Trump threatens to bomb and has B52s sent to the region on his say so. Meanwhile other sectors of our government’s foreign policy and military seem confronted by the specter of a president intentionally usurping the powers of democracy. We have never seen this before. Can Trump be stopped from creating a dictatorial presidency that would continue to plague us even after he is gone? Do our governmental officers still value democracy beyond paying lip service to the Constitution? It is really scary to think that they may not… for real!

We have seen this repeatedly over and over for decades. Korea, Vietnam, Iraq etc etc. We live in a warmongering aggressive empire.

The irony. We couldn’t bring ourselves to leave, and had to wait until we were kicked out. The party guest that was drunk but wouldn’t leave.
We were probably not the cash cow we were in the past decade or so, so who needs grief unless you pay us?

Letter from a marine one star general !!

Easy for DC to erase.

But, does joint chiefs of staff decide to walk away from Iran war?
I think so because we cannot win there.

Iran wins
Putin wins
Maybe Israel will mix in the muddle.

No I meant that our government is confronted by a president who does not support nor respect the constitutional separation of powers. My question is whether or not Trump’s autocratic behavior is actually damaging our democracy. Trump seems to think that he was elected to be a king and can do whatever he wants. However, it is beyond obvious to all intelligent people that this off the cuff decision to assassinate an Iranian leader was made to distract and detour news away from the impeachment trial in the Senate. His threatening to bomb cultural sites shows just how unqualified Trump is to wield such power as a president has.

Or replace with the start of Iran 1.0 with a lot of influence from our “friend” israel:

No way Trump leaves in a hurry.

Nonetheless, ISIS is already licking their chops.

Perhaps you’ll recall those surges and the ransom we paid to Iranian-backed militias to buy off their efforts to keep attacking us in Iraq. Drones can only do so much.

They also hit the wrong targets and create more enemies.

It is called propaganda to allow his alt-left and alt-right base that hold this jerk up to be some bulwark against the “Deep State” some cognitive dissonance they can rally around.

Just like it was propaganda that Trump stepped in at the last minute to keep the US from going to war with Iran that allowed those same apologist arguments in support of Trump being a “non-interventionist” and a supposed peacenik.

This leak of this letter is subterfuge pure and simple.

The Pentagon up and leaving Iraq? Yeah right.

The DOD apparently already repudiated this announcement. I’ll get the popcorn ready…

True, but the intended target has already been fed their Trump lovin’ portion of fantasy.

By the war machine logic, the only real “wrong target” is one that doesn’t create more enemies.

Yeah… this is a given. I am wondering now if it will escalate with Israel saying they uncovered some “plot, an immediate threat” to readjust where the drones are targeted.
