Disappointed but Not Defeated: Battle Over Oil Pipelines Continues

Sonali Kolhatkar

Despite the immense failures of the Democratic Party to live up to its stated progressive ideals, there are differences between the two major parties. Nowhere is that difference more obvious in recent days than in the decision by Donald Trump to reinstate the Keystone XL and Dakota Access (DAPL) pipeline projects. Tens of thousands of environmental, indigenous and other activists slogged for months, even years, to push President Obama to stop the climate-destroying projects.

In addition to Trumps 'Muslim Ban' instilling hatred toward America and creating a surge in terrorist attacks from countries outside our own, Trumps actions that threaten the health and well being of millions of Americans, such as the move to reinstate the Keystone XL and the Dakota Access (DAPL) pipelines which only benefit the corporations and Banks and investors involved, and not the American People, are bound to eventually create 'homegrown' terrorists who see no other way to stop this Corporate Takeover of America.

The evangelicals love this destruction so they can see the rapture. That is the real reason they voted for Trump- didn't see enough destruction with Obama.
