FLAGSTAFF, Arizona - In the wake of the toxic spill in the Animas River earlier this month, tribes, local governments and environmental groups today petitioned the Department of the Interior and Department of Agriculture to reform outdated mining rules on the federal lands they manage.

Kidding aside.
Many of these problems need to addressed at the State levels.
In Nevada, heaven forbid we Tax the Mines, these plunderers strip billions a year with the States blessing. Now knowing about not needing to clean up their messes should play right into the States Rights Playbook, if worded correctly.
