Donald Trump’s ‘Measured Response’

Michael Winship

Oh my, Chinese President Xi Jinping and that darned airstrike against Syria sure had all the members in a tizzy last week at Mar-a-Lago, Donald Trump’s Florida pleasure dome.

Palm Beach Daily News society editor Shannon Donnelly breathlessly reported that for security reasons linked to Jinping’s visit, there was a no-cellphone policy and suspension of the usual prime rib buffet — the horror, the horror!

Mr. Winship you discredit yourself for jumping on the bandwagon that this was Assad's fault, before a complete investigation has been done. Shame on you.

“Our U.S. Army contacts in the area have told us this is not what happened. There was no Syrian ‘chemical weapons attack.’ Instead, a Syrian aircraft bombed an al-Qaeda-in-Syria ammunition depot that turned out to be full of noxious chemicals and a strong wind blew the chemical-laden cloud over a nearby village where many consequently died…..This is what the Russians and Syrians have been saying and – more important –what they appear to believe happened.”

Yes it was an obvious false flag as Putin stated.Assad had zero reasons to do this.

All one needs to do.. is ask what would Assad benefit by gassing his own Syrian people?

"...; the photos of dead children were a shock to the world and clearly a large part of Trump’s motivation to retaliate against the Syrian government with a missile attack on its Shayrat airfield."
When our drones and jets kill children at hospitals, weddings, funerals and the like - who is holding up these children's pictures and sheds tears as they should? I resent statements like the above without mentioning our bad deeds! Can't we be honest?

It's pretty sad really: Michael Winship has hiked into a wilderness of irrelevance and can't seem to find his way out.
