Don't Be Fooled, Warn Critics, Trump's GOP Tax Effort Nothing Short of "Corporate Coup"

Jon Queally, staff writer

As Senate nears closer to vote on tax overhaul plan, Republican ploy called out as "a grand deception."

Republicans are the poster children of strange bedfellows, no doubt. So strange that even those outside of the bed need lube…

Monetary Imperialism by Michael Hudson over at Counterpunch explains the history behind economic practices of the USA having rendered debt the new ‘gold standard’.

Chilling to say the least, invaluable to be cognisant of moving forward.

Think the Brezinski ‘grand chessboard’ might have multiple meanings

And also, 5 republican appointed Justices gave us Citizen’s United and now the courts are getting packed with many more of these corporate lovers. Republicans are giving our democracy a full on assault. I hope it’s not too late.

So we must all remember that the government works for us, and when the government takes its control too far, we move in and remove that government and recreate a new system that works for all. It’s really that simple, and the fact that people don’t get that is the most frightening part.

This is why despite widespread agreement that President Dishonest Don is too erratic, unstable, and uninformed to be trusted with the presidency, there will be no major moves against him until the tax legislation — with all its sneaky little attachments and riders many of which having nothing to do with taxation — gets passed and signed into law.

“Corporate coup” is a pretty good descriptive term for what’s being done. And the real tragedy is that once it becomes law, there will be no way to reverse the adverse economic consequences. Lawsuits will need to be filed, but the current Supreme Court will be of no help in fighting it.

After Nixon resigned, newly sworn in unelected President Jerry said “Our long National nightmare is over.” That won’t be able to be truthfully said once bad dream number 45 is either impeached or persuaded to resign. Like a disease that lingers on with symptoms after the acute illness phase passes, the tax cut will remain in place weakening the body politic for as long as it takes for the whole system to come to a shuddering halt.

So those people who are making out like the bandits they really are because the stock market is momentarily in a state of surge would do well to get gold and hide it under their beds. The rest of us will just have to learn to live in a new kind of society with a much greater emphasis on reciprocal helpfulness to survive in a leaking sinking ship of state.

It’s not too late for us to flood the streets and say, “Hell No” and, “Get The Fuck Out Of Our Government.”

It’s the media that are the complicit partner in this coup.

Well of course this legislation is a de facto coup by Republicans, “conservatives”, the pathological criminal trump regime, and corporate/banker Uber-Wealthy co-conspirators who all will profit from the theft by Billions and more!

The public has not been fully or truthfully informed for the most part, and the financial/economic coup continues to accelerate under extreme secrecy, misinformation, and bald-faced lies on the so-called “tax-reform”, its content and effects - who it will profit and who it will pay for the theft, and the MSM is responsible for that lack of full truthful information!

The “opposition party” elite who represent the same big-money forces have NOT done their jobs as even a timid opposition - they have not created news that the media must report (or find difficult to ignore) to inform the public how this is in fact a theft/coup/treason. Only Bernie Sanders has been out there speaking-out against the crime/coup/scam.

ANY democracy depends on the truth - the whole truth and nothing but the truth, to remain a free state . Truthful elected reps, media, governmental review of intent and effect, and especially the media - the Fourth Estate - that has been sold-off to the same big-money corporate forces that this “conservative” legislation/theft/diversion of tax responsibility benefits, and are hiding the TRUTH!

All taken together this legislation constitutes a major crime/conspiracy against the American people and our “free” republic - that can - and should - be defined as treason!!

“two simple truths about the liberty of a democratic people. The first truth is that the liberty of a democracy is not safe if the people tolerate the growth of private power to a point where it becomes stronger than their democratic State itself. That, in its essence, is fascism — ownership of government by an individual, by a group or by any other controlling private power.
The second truth is that the liberty of a democracy is not safe if its business system does not provide employment and produce and distribute goods in such a way as to sustain an acceptable standard of living. Both lessons hit home.” – Franklin Delano Roosevelt

We now suffer under the most pathological, uneducated, divisive, insane person ever tolerated in the presidency, who has caused more destruction and subversion to our nation and priorities - the death of TRUTH - than ANY prez/regime in our history!

Out here in rural small town America, maybe one other person might join me “to flood the streets.”

#10

I’m not that big on Hudson’s ideas, but I loved his thought that privatization (which republicans will increasingly demand as government revenues fall) meant turning America into a series of toll booths, not factories.

#11

The GOP tax proposal is a thinly veiled version of the “dog eat dog” society. Anyone in favor of this should be careful what you wish for. There are “dogs” out there bigger than you and me.

#12

I think our CORPORATE media has done as good a job as one can expect in informing folks about this tax bill. After all, a huge majority of Americans do not like it. The FDR quote will really hit home when robotics take millions of jobs, there’s no work, and republicans have slashed the safety net. It will not be pretty.

Mordor D.C. has it’s Eye on you and your money and your soul. Sad to say but it will happen. The collapse isn’t complete yet, not just yet. The time isn’t ripe. Like most beast, it will end up feeding on it’s own and that isn’t happening yet, not yet.

#14

OMG! Trump lies? Really!

One can only conclude that anyone who votes for this piece of crap tax bill that everyone hates unless they are the corporate wealthy is unfit to serve in government… Vote em out. In the meantime, let em know they are unfit for office.

#15

Oh, c’mon. The corporate coup was complete years ago. This is just mopping up and consolidation of power.

#16

Most will vote for them again because they see all politicians as the same. The republicans are better at waving the flag and never worrying about lies or untruths or alternate facts or…

#17

Vote 'em out? Too late…

#18

Be sure to take your pitchfork and torch with you for added effect.

#19

Is there any action taken by the Trump Regime since January that does NOT fall into one or more “corporate coup” categories ?

#20

With McCain saying he is now a yes vote I assume the dark days are coming.
