Empire of Destruction: Precision Warfare? Don’t Make Me Laugh

Tom Engelhardt

You remember. It was supposed to be twenty-first-century war, American-style: precise beyond imagining; smart bombs; drones capable of taking out a carefully identified and tracked human being just about anywhere on Earth; special operations raids so pinpoint-accurate that they would represent a triumph of modern military science. Everything “networked.” It was to be a glorious dream of limited destruction combined with unlimited power and success. In reality, it would prove to be a nightmare of the first order.

Thanks Tom for telling it exactly as it is. If we ever needed new trials at Nuremberg, we need them now.

9/11 really did rattle the US cage in a nearly unprecedented way. Pearl Harbor is the only anslahous event. All the wars that the US from the Spanish-American involved US troops going there to fight and kill and die. It seems to have never occurred to people living in the mainland homeland that we could be hit by blowback. I think the notion evolved in the national subconscious from the US-Soviet Union Cold War where the rude fact that we coukd be bombed to smithereens, but it never happened. It was just always there to worry about,

9/11 was the first time the Other World actually struck back and put the possibility of being hit by terrorist bombers on the US mental front burner, and the idea that we have to hurt them back before they can get it together to do it to us some more, the fear blinding us to the realirt that everything we do to one of them there creates more terrorists who are out to get us but good.

Yes, Tom, it does look like everything is headed toward rubble. The few who are gaining seem not yet to see that a short rich life of walking on piles of rubble and breathing polluted air is not going to be much fun.

Before the Middle East wars, North Korea was bombed to rubble. Look where that got North Korea. And look where that got our relations with it. But more that that , look at how that reduced the cohesion and power of the coastal areas. See how it provided another excuse for the US to be in South Korea at China’s doorstep. So little care about human life and another nation’s sovereignty…
Using North Korea as an example, it appears that the main difference between them and the Middle East in our management, is that we left North Korea, but we never left the other rubbilized countries. Thus the current Middle Eastern interminable wars.

Linkin park produced “Lost in the Echo” as a music video with Edwin, showing the aftermath of war for a Middle Eastern neighborhood.
Linkin Park’s lead singer Chester Bennington just recently passed away, death by hanging. Sorry, I use youku, not Facebook, can’t provide a link.

Complete destruction of the Middle East is exactly what the criminal govt of Israel desires. The balkanization of the surrounding countries. As to 911, this was a Mossad led black op with the acquiesence of the subservient U.S. govt. Everyone involved was a ‘dual’ citizen. Cui bono? We know who, not the pathetic U.S. who funds Israel. Every war we are in was started by lies and false flags. The latest so-called terror war will last entire lifetimes.Unttil Eretz Israel is achieved, the U.S. will do the bidding of Israel. By now , even the blind realize that congress is 100% under the control of AIPAC. The foreign power group that DEMANDS U.S. aid. A must read, " Tell the Truth and Shame the Devil " by Gerard Menuhin.
