Port Arthur, Texas, is home to a tremendous number of hazardous waste incinerators, petrochemical refineries, and a myriad other toxic facilities. The city is also home to many low-income families and people of color, all stuck in this extremely polluted region and trying to cope with dirty air and water.
It astounds me how quiet the nation is on the EPA cuts. 30% is a LOT of funding. Yet, somehow the administration has slid this under the door with minimal notice. We simply cannot afford cuts at this point, and the budget should probably be doubled. Idiot Americans making love to their phones, celebrities, SUV's or whatever jackass diversions. This is insane. I really hope in year we can reverse this That's why I said from the beginning: There can be no normalization with this "swamp thing" known as Trump. Even if we tried.
