Escalation Fears Grow in Venezeula as Guaidó Signals Support for Foreign Intervention and US Withdraws Diplomats

Julia Conley, staff writer

I know that the “smart” move for Maduro is to not react the way the U. S. supposedly wants him to react - by cracking down on Guaido and the other traitors trying to stage a coup to overthrow him - not take the bait. However, there comes a point when all of the U. S. dirty tricks and outright sabotage of Venezuela’s economy and infrastructure have to be stopped by the legitimate government, the Chavista government. I keep saying that the United States and his fascist opposition are not going to give up peacefully and quit trying to overthrow the government. There is way to much at stake financially and resource-wise. Fascists don’t negotiate or quit. They have to be crushed and executed, which is what Maduro has to do with Guaido and everyone with him. I’m glad that the U. S. has pulled it’s “diplomats” out. Now, any American official left there can be charged with espionage, which is what most of them were doing there anyway. Maduro has to expel the diplomats of every other country that has come out in support of Guaido, because most of them are also probably spies and provocateurs of some kind. I’m begging Maduro, please crush your opposition before they succeed in taking down one of the last governments in the Americas that works for it’s poor and downtrodden. They are not going to give up, no matter how much the truth about them is revealed. There is too much money at stake for the Powers-That-Be for that to happen.

A twist on that old expression “What if you threw a war and nobody came” with the answer being much the same.

What if they threw a war and the USA did not show up?

Well stated. I am disgusted with my country’s (US) interference in the affairs of other countries around the world. Where is the United Nations? To be effective this world organization has to revamp the Security Council and rid itself of permanent members with veto power. It needs to be able to continue as a truly independent organization free from the undue influence of any other country. It needs to be self sustaining economically.

https://www.investmentwatchblog.com/the-hidden-decline-of-the-gold-mining-industry-that-no-one-is-talking-about/

It not only about the Oil. North Korea , a number of African Countries , Afghanistan along with those Countries in Latin America are being targeted for ALL of their resources. Mining Companies long ago tapped out all of the high grade ores and now find ROI dropping because it takes ever more in the way of investment to get the ore out of lower grade deposits. While this happens in the Oil industry as well the fact remains that Gold, Iron , Silver , Coltan and resources too limited to mention are in ever shorter supply and the system of Capitalsim that relies on resourse extraction to fuel “Growth and jobs” devours itself.

In relative terms , Venezuela has not been heavily explored fro resources when compared to other Countries. Nor has Afghanistan been. Sub Saharan Africa becomes a major supplier of these resources and Afghanistan sits on a mountain of mineral wealth.

China knows this. Russa knows this. The USA knows this. The EU knows this. Canada knows this and all of them or in a race to see which faction will dominate those few remaining resources. This is Colonialism at work. These are resource wars. This is about stealing the resources of Venezuela and ensuring that someone other then the poor peoples of Venezuela profit off those resources. The loyalty of “The whiter more Civilized” peoples in Venezuela will be bought with some of those monies going into their pockets.

Everything now depends on the moods of an angry and fearful old man. If he feels cornered, he may order up a war that could drag on for years or he could find another way to distract the public.

Of course we’re going to invade Venezuela. What do you think this has all been about? Guaido declares himself the President without any election and 50 nations recognize him. That’s all about regime change engineered in the US not about some kind of political evolution derived within the halls of Venezuela.

Here’s a second prediction. If Trump gets re-elected we’ll be at war with Iran by two years into his next term. This is all very transparent. It’s the US being what the US has always been.

Well said. True, this has been going on for decades or better yet, since the beginning. The motives of the US have been hidden over the years but now there is no more pretending – the layers are now being peeled back and the US is totally exposed as “what the US has always been.”.

How do Americans NOT see the loathsome criminality and unmitigated EVIL of deliberately provoking illegal wars against Venezuela and Iran? Why do they think that they will never have to experience any of the monstrous consequences of these wars within our own borders? Those who lust and strive for war deserve to get it - hard - and up the ass.

Of course! Guaido was selected by the Amerikan, fascists a long time ago because he is nothing but a sycophant and a fawning, quisling for U.S. oil interests which is probably worth billions if not trillions of $$$$$. Bolton already wants to send 5,000 troops to Venezuela in order to steal the oil from Venezuela.

By now sufficient Venezuela military big wigs have been bribed. First they will take the big sea ports and call in the ships filled with death cargo that mysteriously floated all the way from East Europe… paid for with dope from Columbia. Freedom American style is about to break out in Venezuela. The last thing the neoliberal genociders desire is a poor South American country sharing their oil wealth with the peasants when it can be shared with American oligarchs.

A number of economists did a study on the British Presence in India as a Colonial power and determined that the British Empire pulled some 43 TRILLION dollars worth of Wealth out of India during their time there , this to line the pockets of that “Investor Class”.

The much smaller British army controlled India by using some of that wealth to pay off local factions to help police the Indian population.

This still goes on and this exactly what is going on in Venezuela.

Didn’t Cheney beg for 40 billion to start and finish his war in Iraq? What if this time congress said no to funding yet another war. And what if congress is still on the dole to the MIC. Then the people could threaten to stop paying taxes until the wars are halted.
Drastic actions for drastic situations. We will likely need not only a great leader to stop this war mongering, it will have to be someone willing to be a martyr. Because THEY will kill him or her. Our last successful peace activist was murdered in 1980. I don’t see anyone taking his place.

As far as resource extraction goes, there is something the common people can do.
While some minerals are indispensable for industrial civilization, other minerals (gold, diamond, …)
are really not necessary for a good life. So what if the 99% decide that we really don’t need to wear
gold jewelry or buy diamond engagement rings?
Also, we should demand that the gadgets/appliances should be designed to allow for recycling metals/plastics in it.
We desperately need steady state economy with equitable distribution of fruits of labor abjuring the
mantra of “growth”. “Socialism or barbarism.”

Peace.

Hmm. When Trumpencerubioboltonpompeo elected Guaidó in January, Maduro was warned in no uncertain terms to back off from his threat to evict U.S. ‘diplomats’. Now the U.S. is unilaterally withdrawing them?
Must want to ensure nothing ballistic falls on any Gringo heads.
