I have many GOP relatives to whom Trump is their savior. It is like they have been somehow hypnotized by Trump and Fox News. The fact that so many support Trump because they still believe Biden and the Democratic Party stole the 2020 election…MAKES THEM EXTREMELY DANGEROUS!

They dropped the ball on the January 6th terrorist attack, which was being openly planned and discussed by GOP politicians, Clarence Thomas’ wife got the permit for the march, the violent nature of the Jan 6 event was all over 4-chan and other domestic terrorist websites ahead of time.
Or maybe they should have figured it out when the Trumpers erected a gallows!
From now on, they should respond to Trump terrorists at least as brutally as they responded to BLM, Line 3, and other righteous protests, especially what they did in Portland, kidnapping people from the streets using unmarked officers and vans.
They should arrest and prosecute, with no plea deals, and charge them with terrorism offenses.

Sadly, it appears that this thing may have to run its course, with all the chest-thumping, social upheaval, and bloodshed that entails.
It’s not that I’m advocating doing nothing - and I’m not discounting the efforts of what seem to be some very genuine and dedicated people - but we as a Nation might actually be at the point where we will continue to be unable to turn things around until we hit bottom and consciously live through the responsibility, shame, and horror of that.
I pray that I’m wrong, but America is so often blinded by its own arrogance…

Most veterans who been to battle oppose war. I’d bet more than a few who attended the Jan 6 insurrection - if not stormed the capitol building - saw the error of their ways. No doubt there are those among them plotting another futile attempt to overthrow - rather than reform -our corrupt government.

After all, the government turned this nation into a police state after 9-11 so why do they leave the Capitol exposed to any group of ill-educated, propagandized militants bent on insurrection? My theory is that Democrats love theater in all its forms & can’t resist watching, regardless of the consequences. Besides, Democrats hate to do any work whatsoever. With a few notable exceptions, they’re passive, lazy, inept & ineffectual.

I don’t think so. Emotional intelligence includes empathy & these individuals have shown very little of that quality. You see, there’s emotional intelligence & then there’s irrationality, and they’re infected with the latter.

We should keep in mind the upside down world trump and the deplorables have wrought.
Pretending that they are the good guys is just another extension of that.
We are in danger of accepting any of this as normalization of thought or deed.
Most news outlets are at their worst when they overlook pertinent facts of a story. And of course outright lies are offered as truths.
